22.08.26 - HEAVY RAIN flooded the about 1 RAI. The plot is completely flat and leveled up with compacted clay soil.
With not trees or plants, the water does not infiltrate. This is why I start planting including Vetiver grass to make way for the water to drain.
But as it will take some time, I decided to dig a little trench so that water flow to the adjacent empty land which is already flooded, and about 1-1.5m lower.

This help to drain the water. Let’s see when I am back .

Friday I visited a Durian Orchard in Koh Kret Nonthaburi and meet Khun Tommy
He took me around and share some many information, from how to take care of durian trees to irrigation system using affordable smart technology.

I learn so much, it was invaluable and gained a lot of knowledge that can I can apply in my project.

It is always a pleasure to share experiences to cultivate. I will definitely look into applying some techniques while building my food forest.

I am glad I made a new friend น้าทอม ทุเรียนนนท์ He’s got many Durian varieties.

They seem to love the sunn h**p as I regular see them coming or maybe it’s because there are not so many flowers around. I can’t wait to see more when the land will hopefully be filled with yellow flowers 💛🌼🐝

This will help to prevent soil erosion.
The poles are temporary and will look at planting tree edge but still haven’t decided on the species. I want a thick dense foliage for visual and sound natural barrier, maybe 3m tall max
