EEI-LMS Training Course 2023 on 19-23 June 2023 at Grande Centre Point Bangkok, Thailand

The Economy and Environment Partnership for Lower Mekong Sub-region (EEI-LMS) Research Center, Khon Kaen University held five days of training courses 2023 for participants from Laos, Myanmar, and Cambodia about Environmental Economics with the following topics: Welfare Economics, Cost-Benefit Analysis, Economics Valuation, and Behavioral and Experimental Economics.

The first day began with an opening statement by Dr.Phumsith Mahasuweerachai, the director of EEL-LMS, followed by training on Basic theory for environmental and Welfare economics by Dr.Piyaluk Buddhawongsa.

On the second day, Dr.Orapan Nabangchang Srisawalak gave a lecture on The Concept of Economic Values, Overview of the Methodologies, Change in Productivity, Cost of Illness, and Cost of Treatment.

On the third day, Dr.Voravee Saengavut gave a lecture on the revealed preferences (Travel Cost Method) and Dr. Orapan Nabangchang Srisawalak gave a lecture on Stated Preferences Method. Following the session, we had a welcome dinner at Flower Restaurant with the trainers and participants.

On the fourth day, Dr.Rawadee Jarungrattanapong gave a lecture on Introduction to Behavioral Economics, Other-regarding preferences, Economic Experiment, Measuring other-regarding preferences using experimental games, and Introduction to randomized controlled trials (RCT)

On the fifth day, Dr.Kanittha Tambunlertchai gave a lecture on Why, What, and How to conducting Cost-Benefit Analysis and Dr.Jakrapun Suksawat gave a lecture on Key issues in Cost-Benefit Analysis, and Learning by doing with case study in Cost-Benefit Analysis, After the training, we had a certificate presentation ceremony for the attendees, followed by Dr.Phumsith Mahasuweerachai's closing remarks.

Participants gained more knowledge, exchanged information, and networked as a result of the training course.
