Rights Beyond Border

RBB is a registered child rights–based organization promoting and protecting the rights of children on the move along Thailand’s borders.

Our work engages the wider child rights ecosystem to build safer and more inclusive environments for all children. Rights Beyond Border (RBB) is an NGO working on human rights and development issues. Our focus is to promote and protect the rights of vulnerable people included migrant children, migrant workers in Thailand. RBB works on the principle in bridging the gaps in human rights, equality, sustainability and contributing to positive social change.

Many families want their children to continue education, but economic challenges often make it difficult.

To support children at risk of missing out on learning opportunities, RBB and KNH continue promoting education in migrant communities and opening applications for our 2026–2027 Homeschool Program as an alternative learning pathway 📚

For the 2026–2027 academic year, we are happy to welcome 17 new homeschooled children who passed the exam and will continue their education journey through the program 👏👏👏

🧡Congratulations as well to the 23 homeschooled students from the 2025–2026 academic year for your hard work and success in moving to the next grade level this year. We are also very happy to see 2 homeschooled students return to continue their education in MLCs 🥳🎉🎊

This year marks Batch 4 of our Thai class initiative!!

RBB, in partnership with Tak Community College (TCC), is happy to continue organizing Advanced Thai Language Classes for non-Thai people interested in learning Thai language and culture 🇹🇭📚

More than language learning, the class promotes cultural exchange, mutual understanding, and social inclusion. Thank you to TCC for being a long-term partner in expanding learning and education opportunities for diverse communities!

🌈 Rainbow Bag is Back! 💛

With the generous support of the KNH Humanitarian Unit, RBB has started delivering food and essential supplies to more than 1,000 displaced children and families staying in school dormitories and communities.

These support packages include food, hygiene items, and other daily essentials to help children and families while seeking protection and education in Mae Sot.

During school breaks, our Mobile PFA activities give children the freedom to reconnect with themselves through creativity, play, and support.

In these small moments, there is "me time” - a space for children to breathe, feel, and express.🧡

And together, it becomes “our time” - a safe, supportive environment where they are seen, heard, and valued.

Rights Beyond Border ภายใต้การสนับสนุนขององค์การ Kindernothilfe ประเทศไทย เดินหน้าพัฒนาโครงการ "พื้นที่นวัตกรรมเพื่อการคุ้มครองเด็กเคลื่อนย้าย หรือ Children on the Move Protection Sandbox" ผ่านการนำคณะกรรมการโครงการ Advancing Migrant Education for Better Protection และภาคส่วนที่เกี่ยวข้องไปศึกษาดูงานและแลกเปลี่ยนเรียนรู้กับคณะทำงานคุ้มครองสิทธิเด็กลูกหลานแรงงานข้ามชาติ จังหวัดเชียงใหม่ ซึ่งเป็นการประสานความร่วมมือกันระหว่างภาครัฐและเอกชนในการคุ้มครองเด็กข้ามชาติอย่างเข้มแข็ง และได้มีโอกาสแลกเปลี่ยนเรียนรู้กับผู้แทนจากศึกษาธิการจังหวัดเชียงใหม่ ในฐานะจังหวัดที่ดำเนินการจัดทำพื้นที่นวัตกรรมเพื่อการศึกษา

โดยครั้งนี้ ทาง RBB และคณะกรรมการโครงการฯ ได้มีโอกาสแลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็นรวมถึงมุมมองของการทำงานร่วมกันระหว่างภาครัฐและภาคประชาสังคมในการทำงานด้านการคุ้มครองเด็กเคลื่อนย้าย เพื่อนำไปสู่การนำเสนอให้โครงการพื้นที่นวัตกรรมเป็นนโยบายในระดับพื้นที่

Rights Beyond Border (RBB), with the support of Kindernothilfe Thailand, is moving forward with the development of the project “Children on the Move Protection Sandbox.”

Recently, the Advancing Migrant Education for Better Protection project committee, together with key partners, visited Chiang Mai Province to learn from and exchange experiences with the Chiang Mai Provincial Working Group on Protecting the Rights of Migrant Children. This visit highlighted the strong collaboration between government agencies and civil society in building more effective child protection systems. The team also had the opportunity to engage with representatives from the Chiang Mai Provincial Education Office, to learn on how to develop an innovative education sandbox since Chiang Mai is a province implementing an innovation space for education.

Through this opportunity, RBB and the project committee had the opportunity to exchange opinions as well as perspectives on collaboration between the government sector and civil society in working on the protection of migrant children, in order to move toward proposing the Children on the Move Protection Sandbox as a policy at the local level.

RBB would like to express sincere thanks to the representatives from the Chiang Mai Provincial Working Group on Protecting the Rights of Migrant Children, and the Chiang Mai Provincial Education Office, for giving the Mae Sot team the opportunity to discuss and exchange knowledge during this visit. 🔸 Child Safeguarding and Positive Discipline Workshop for MLC Teachers!

Ensuring children’s safety in schools through strengthening teacher capacity is our priority. During the school break, RBB, with the support of KNH Thailand, organized a three-day workshop on Child Safeguarding (CSG) and Positive Discipline (PD). The workshop equipped teachers with key principles and practical strategies to create safe, supportive, and child-centered learning environments.

🔸การอบรมเชิงปฏิบัติการด้านการคุ้มครองเด็กและวินัยเชิงบวกสำหรับครู MLC!

RBB ให้ความสำคัญกับความปลอดภัยของเด็กในศูนย์การเรียนรู้ฯ ผ่านการพัฒนาศักยภาพของครูมาโดยตลอด โดยในช่วงปิดภาคเรียนนี้ ทาง RBB ภายใต้การสนับสนุนขององค์การ KNH Thailand ได้จัดการอบรมเชิงปฏิบัติการระยะเวลา 3 วัน ด้านการปกป้องคุ้มครองเด็ก และการสร้างวินัยเชิงบวก โดยมุ่งเน้นการเสริมสร้างความรู้ ความเข้าใจในหลักการสำคัญ และแนวทางปฏิบัติที่สามารถนำไปใช้ได้จริง เพื่อสร้างสภาพแวดล้อมการเรียนรู้ที่ปลอดภัย สนับสนุนการเรียนรู้ และยึดเด็กเป็นศูนย์กลาง

📍From Deportation to Safety: Making Alternatives to Detention a Reality for Children

We’re so thrilled to help a child in conflict with the law safely reunite with her family after her court release, just in time for her final exams!

A 14-year-old girl, who took responsibility for her 9-year-old sister’s mistake, was released by the court. However, her undocumented status brought her to the immigration office for illegal entry and potential deportation. RBB has been working closely with the immigration office and the government shelter for children and families to ensure she is safely returned to her family

Supporting children in conflict with the law is challenging, but promoting alternatives to detention is even more so. RBB has been working tirelessly on Alternatives to Detention for children long before Thailand’s official ATD MoU was developed, ensuring they are protected and returned safely to their families rather than placed in detention.

The launch of the “Children on the Move Protection Sandbox Initiative” is already making a real impact, translating knowledge and principles on children on the move into action at the local level.

We greatly appreciate the efforts of the Tak Immigration Office and Tak Shelter for Children and Families, who followed the ATD MoU, its SOP, and the Child Protection Act to safeguard this girl from deportation and ensure her safe return to her family 👏👏👏
