The Gender-Based Violence Coordination Group was built on 27/August 2013 by 13 organizations, including 7 CBOs and 6 NGOs from the Mae Sot border. USAID/PLE (Project for Local Empowerment) IRC/WPE team organized and supported this coordination group to assist the migrant women and children in response and prevention of Gender Based Violence issues in Mae Sot. This network group’s objectives are 1
) To have a unique and systematic coordination among the group members. 2)To link with local authorities and other networks. 3) To promote GBV service-providing system. 4) To strengthen our own capacity to meet global standards and be recognized by Royal Thai Government agencies. The GBVCG network carries out the protection and prevention activities for the migrant women in Mae Sot, Phop Phra, and Mae Ra Mat areas, Tak, Thailand. Currently, there are 19 organizations in the GBVCG network.
