5 Tigers : The Guardian of Mangrove Forest.
Unlearn & Relearn
After working together on the bridge, we managed a workshop to clearly understand our new 5 Tigers about their life, belief, mindset to see things to Unlearn :
● Feelings of being unwanted or useless.
● Shame around unemployment.
● The belief that drugs are their only community.
● The idea that local knowledge has no value.
● The mindset that “someone like me cannot change”.
We hope to rebuild self-worth, belonging, and purpose by showing them they have
an important role in protecting the forest and community.
After the workshop, we find it's not easy for them express their feelings, it's like something they don't get used to. Even more difficult to get them writing about it. We may have to find new ideas for the next workshops.
Moreover, we informed them our project "Mangroversity" and show them opportunities :
● Join Mangroversity’s Educational Team
● Become local interpreters or conservation assistants.
● Take part in future trainings and advanced mentorship.
● Earn income through community-led tourism and environmental activities.
● Become emerging leaders who inspire other vulnerable youth.
● Receive future support and micro-funding as Mangroversity grows.
The long-term vision is to build a new local workforce rooted in dignity, ecology,
and community care.
In this part they see that they are expected, are wanted. And there's a support from our group. Even though we couldn't have a deep workshop as we wanted but they see this interesting and exciting and want to keep on working with us.
