🎶✨ The power of community, music, and giving back. ✨🎶

One of the proudest moments from Samui Summer Jazz 2026 came to life this week as the musical instruments funded through our charity initiative officially found their new home at Baan Angthong School, Koh Samui. ❤️🎵

Thanks to the incredible support of our partners , , our sponsors, volunteers, musicians, and everyone who attended Samui Summer Jazz, we were able to provide students with new instruments including a keyboard, drum kit, electric guitar, amplifiers, marching drums, and cymbals (valued THB 78,000).

Seeing the students perform with such joy and enthusiasm reminded us why community support matters. Music is more than just notes and melodies. It builds confidence, creativity, discipline, and opportunities for young people to discover their potential. 🎼✨

At Sisters on Samui, we believe every child deserves the chance to learn, grow, and dream bigger.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible. Together, we are creating meaningful impact, one child and one note at a time. 💛🙏🏼

💛 A Wonderful Afternoon at Rocky’s Resort 💛

A huge thank you to the 46 ladies who joined us for our May Ladies Luncheon at the beautiful .kohsamui – A Veranda Collection Samui.

Set amongst the lush tropical gardens and stunning seaside views of Lamai, it was a wonderful afternoon of friendship, laughter, and community spirit. Guests enjoyed a delicious three-course lunch while catching up with familiar faces and making new connections.

We are incredibly grateful to the team at Rocky’s for their warm hospitality and continued support of Sisters on Samui. The resort holds a special place in our hearts, and it was a pleasure to return to such a welcoming venue.

Thanks to everyone who attended, we raised an amazing THB 4,600 for SOS outreach programmes, helping us continue supporting vulnerable members of our island community.

We would also like to thank the many ladies who brought along bottled donations for our upcoming Taste of Samui Tombola stall. Your generosity will help make the event a great success.

Together, through friendship and community, we continue to make a difference. 💛

📚 You're Invited to a Very Special Book Launch on Koh Samui 📚

Some people quietly become part of the fabric of our island community, and Marianne Chirathivat is certainly one of them.

A long-time Samui resident and someone who has contributed so much to our local community over the years, Marianne is now sharing her remarkable life story in her newly published memoir:

"It Must Have Been Love – Struggling a Bit When West Meets East"

Based on her personal diaries, the book tells the fascinating true story of a young woman from Bristol who unexpectedly fell in love with a Thai student in the late 1960s. What followed was a journey across continents, cultures, family expectations, and a lifetime of adventures that eventually led her to Thailand.

Filled with warmth, humour, honesty, and insight, Marianne's story offers a unique glimpse into life, love, and cultural differences during a rapidly changing period in history.

📅 Book Launch Tuesday 9th June 📍 The Book Nook, Lamai ⏰ 1pm - 4pm.

This event is also a wonderful opportunity to celebrate another special addition to our island community — Book Nook Samui , created by Katie.

👑 Happy Birthday to Her Majesty Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana 👑

On 3rd June, Thailand celebrates the birthday of Her Majesty Queen Suthida and honours her dedication and service to the Kingdom and its people.

This special day is also observed as a national holiday, providing an opportunity for reflection, gratitude, and community spirit. Across the country, homes, businesses, and public spaces are adorned in purple, the colour associated with Her Majesty, as people come together to mark the occasion.

At Sisters on Samui, we join our local community in extending our warmest wishes to Her Majesty Queen Suthida for good health, happiness, and continued strength in the years ahead.

🕯️ Happy Visakha Bucha Day 🕯️

Today, communities across Thailand come together to observe Visakha Bucha Day, one of the most important days in the Buddhist calendar. It commemorates the birth, enlightenment, and passing of the Buddha, all of which are believed to have occurred on the same day.

A day of reflection, compassion, and mindfulness, Visakha Bucha encourages us to consider how we can bring kindness, generosity, and understanding into our daily lives and our communities.

At Sisters on Samui, these values resonate deeply with our mission of supporting and uplifting those around us. We are grateful to be part of a community that continually demonstrates care, generosity, and a willingness to help others.

We wish all those celebrating a peaceful and meaningful Visakha Bucha Day. 🙏✨

🌾 Supporting Koh Samui Hospital Through Our Local Matters Initiative 💛

Sisters on Samui is proud to be supporting the Koh Samui Hospital Rice Project throughout 2026 — helping provide essential meals for patients through the hospital’s Nutrition Department.

Koh Samui Hospital, located in Nathon, is the island’s main government hospital and serves thousands of locals, migrant workers and international residents every year. As the hospital continues expanding services, including the opening of the new Marina Hub wing, additional community support is needed more than ever.

In March 2026, SOS donated THB 5,061 worth of Thai Jasmine rice to support patient meals, with further deliveries planned throughout the year. 🌾

This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to supporting practical, meaningful projects that directly benefit the Koh Samui community. Every donation and every act of support helps make a real difference. 🙏

A huge thank you to Koh Samui Hospital staff for everything they do for our island community every single day.

💜 We’re currently looking for a passionate individual to join the SOS Community Board and help shape our community initiatives.

Each year, the Board identifies where support is most needed and helps guide how the Foundation can make a meaningful impact within the community.

This is a two-year role with one meeting per month and approximately 3–4 hours per week of involvement. We’re looking for someone who would love to contribute their time, ideas and experience to support the community and help drive positive change.
