มูลนิธินิเวศวิถี EcoThailand Foundation ร่วมกับ สัตว์ไรนิ. จัดปฏิบัติการสำรวจธรรมชาติในเมือง จังหวัดสุราษฎร์ธานี โดยสำรวจเมืองสุราษฎร์ธานี และเกาะสมุย ซึ่งปฏิบัติการสำรวจธรรมชาติในเมือง หรือ City Nature Challenge หรือที่หลายคนเรียกสั้น ๆ ว่า CNC ซึ่งเป็นกิจกรรมที่จัดขึ้นพร้อมกันในกว่า 700 เมืองทั่วโลก โดยมีเป้าหมายให้คนทั่วไปได้ออกมา ‘สำรวจธรรมชาติรอบตัว’ และช่วยกันบันทึกสิ่งมีชีวิตที่พบเห็น ไม่ว่าจะเป็นต้นไม้ นก แมลง หรือเห็ดรา ผ่านแอปพลิเคชัน iNaturalist สำหรับปีนี้ จะอยู่ในช่วง 24 - 27 เมษายน นี้

EcoThailand Foundation, in collaboration with Whatwild, is conducting the City Nature Challenge (CNC), explores Surat Thani city and Koh Samui. This initiative is a global phenomenon, held simultaneously in over 700 cities, encouraging citizens to "explore the nature around them" and document their observations of plants, birds, insects, and fungi using the iNaturalist app. This year's operation runs from April 24th to 27th.

Everyone can participate as a citizen scientist exploring urban nature by downloading iNaturalist and submitting photos taken with their mobile phones or cameras.
This activity is part of a positive tourism project supported by The Intrepid Foundation.

มูลนิธินิเวศวิถี EcoThailand Foundation ร่วมกับ หลักสูตรพืชศาสตร์ มทร.ศรีวิชัย ทุ่งใหญ่ และ ชมรมรุกขกรรม นครศรีธรรมราช จัดอบรมการตัดแต่งต้นไม้ใหญ่อย่างถูกวิธีตามหลักรุกขกรรมเบื้องต้น ให้กับผู้มีอาชีพตัดแต่งต้นไม้ใหญ่และผู้สนใจ ณ คุ้มสาเก ชุมชนเฉวงหน้าวัด ตำบลบ่อผุด อำเภอเกาะสมุย จังหวัดสุราษฎร์ธานี
เนื้อหาเริ่มด้วยการประเมินความเสี่ยง ต่อด้วยการฝึกปฏิบัติการตัดแต่งต้นไม้ใหญ่อย่างถูกวิธี และสาธิตปฏิบัติการตัดแต่งต้นไม้ใหญ่ และให้ผู้เข้าร่วมอบรมได้ใช้อุปกรณ์และฝึกปฏิบัติ ขอบคุณ Surasak Choothong และทีมงานจากชมรมรุกขกรรม นครศรีธรรมราช อจ.บอย และ อจ.เบียร์

EcoThailand in collaboration with the Plant Science Program, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya, Thungyai Campus, and the Nakhon Si Thammarat Arboriculture Club, hosted a training course on big tree pruning techniques based on basic arboriculture principles was held for tree trimmers and interested individuals at Khum Sake, Chaweng Na Wat community, Bo Phut Subdistrict, Koh Samui District, Surat Thani Province.
The course began with risk assessment, followed by practical training in big tree pruning techniques, a demonstration of pruning techniques, and hands-on practice with equipment. Thanks to Surasak Choothong and the team from the Nakhon Si Thammarat Arboriculture Club, Ajarn Boy and Ajarn Beer.
Thanks also to Au Samui and the Surat Thani Provincial Office of Natural Resources and Environment for their lecture on simple calculations of carbon sequestration in trees. Thanks to Koh Samui City for the bucket truck.
This training is part of the Nature Positive tourism project, which aims to protect biodiversity through nature-friendly approaches. This means stopping and restoring damage to nature to allow the entire ecosystem to recover from its current degraded state by reducing ongoing impacts and taking positive actions to restore nature.

การลดการเกิดขยะและมีจิตสำนึกรักบ้านเกิด จะช่วยให้บ้านเมืองสะอาดขึ้น

At Haad Yang Beach Koh Phangan with Trash Hero Koh Phangan and the team mentioned above collected 666 kg of waste.
We should reduce and segregate our waste more and educate people and children for less waste on the island.

EcoThailand Foundation are pleased to welcome their new Executive Director, G*e (Radda Larpnun), into the organisation. G*e has been active personally and through The Islands Guardian and Thailand's Sustainable Alliance organisations promoting environmentalism and sustainability within Thailand for many years. She will bring her expertise and experience into the Foundation to support the continued and productive expansion of our projects on a truely national basis.

Radda Larpnun works in biodiversity conservation, natural resources management, sustainable tourism, and community-based development. She holds an MSc in Conservation and Tourism from the Durrell Institute of Conservation and Ecology (DICE), University of Kent, and has over 20 years of experience across research, policy, communications, and practical environmental management.

She has worked with international organisations including IUCN, UNDP, WCS, and WWF, and collaborated closely with coastal and island communities in Thailand, particularly Koh Tao. Her work reflects a strong people–planet–partnership approach, demonstrating how locally managed marine areas can balance conservation, tourism, and local livelihoods.

She is a co-founder of the Thailand Sustainable Islands Alliance (TSIA) and has a strong interest in climate change adaptation, mitigation, and net-zero pathways. She believes that education for the next generation and strong local leadership are essential to long-term sustainability.

มูลนิธินิเวศวิถี EcoThailand Foundation เข้าร่วมอบรมมัคคุเทศก์ดาราศาสตร์ ประจำปี 2569 ณ อุทยานดาราศาสตร์สิรินธร และสวนพฤกษศาสตร์สมเด็จพระนางเจ้าสิริกิติ์ อำเภอแม่ริม จังหวัดเชียงใหม่
สถาบันวิจัยดาราศาสตร์แห่งชาติ
พบปะผู้รักและชื่นชมการดูดาว ทั่วประเทศ 30 คน ทุกภาค สำหรับภาคใต้มี 2 กลุ่ม กลุ่มละ 3 คน คือจังหวัดสุราษฎร์ธานีและนครศรีธรรมราช และกลุ่มจังหวัดภูเก็ต สงขลา และยะลา
เรียนรู้ การท่องเที่ยวเชิงดาราศาสตร์ การดูดาวเบื้องต้นแลการเตรียมตัวสำหรับดูดาว การใช้งานอุปกรณ์ทางดาราศาสตร์ การออกแบบกิจกรรมทางดาราศาสตร์สำหรับนันทนาการ และอื่นๆ อีกมากมาย เรียกว่าอัดแน่น เลิก 3 ทุ่ม - 4 ทุ่ม มีสอบรายตัวอีกด้วย
ทำให้ได้เรียนรู้เรื่องการจัดกิจกรรมทางดาราศาสตร์ ซึ่งนอกการจัดกิจกรรมแล้ว ก็เพื่อถ่ายทอดให้ผู้สนใจต่อไป ขอขอบคุณ ทุกท่านทั้งเจ้าหน้าที่อุทยานดาราศาสตร์สิรินธร และเพื่อนร่วมรุ่นทุกท่าน

🌟เราทุกคนมีฟ้าเดียวกัน แต่ไม่สามารถเห็นดาวได้เหมือนกัน เพราะเราสร้างความสว่างไปบดบังความงามของฟ้ามืด หากเราสามารถจัดการเรื่องแสงสว่างไม่ให้เป็นมลพิษทางแสง ฟ้าของทุกที่ก็มีดาวสวยๆ ให้ชื่นชม🌟
Dark-Sky Thailand สถาบันวิจัยดาราศาสตร์แห่งชาติ (องค์การมหาชน) รณรงค์ให้ประชาชนใช้แสงสว่างให้เกิดประโยชน์สูงสุดและส่งผลเสียน้อยที่สุด เพื่ออนุรักษ์ท้องฟ้ายามค่ำคืนภายใต้ชื่อแคมเปญ “Dark Sky in Thailand” หรือใช้ชื่อภาษาไทยว่า “เขตอนุรักษ์ท้องฟ้ามืดในประเทศไทย” โดยมีเงื่อนไขว่าสถานที่นั้นต้องสามารถสังเกตเห็นดวงดาวในเวลากลางคืนได้อย่างชัดเจน อาจเป็นอุทยานแห่งชาติ พื้นที่ชุมชนหรือพื้นที่ส่วนตัว ตัวอย่างเช่น “เขตสงวนท้องฟ้ามืดอาโอรากิ แมคเคนซี” ประเทศนิวซีแลนด์ เขตสงวนท้องฟ้ามืดที่ประสบความสำเร็จ สามารถจัดบริการการท่องเที่ยวเชิงนิเวศ กิจกรรมดูดาว/ถ่ายภาพในเวลากลางคืน ห้องพัก โรงแรม ร้านอาหาร ร้านขายของที่ระลึก เทศกาลชมดาว และการบรรยายพิเศษ ทำให้เกิดการจ้างงานและเพิ่มรายได้ให้กับคนในชุมชนได้เป็นอย่างมาก

EcoThailand participated in the 2026 Astronomy Guide Training at Sirindhorn Astronomical Park and Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden, Mae Rim District, Chiang Mai Province. NARIT (National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand)
We met 30 stargazing enthusiasts from across the country, representing all regions. For the South, there were two groups of three people each: Surat Thani and Nakhon Si Thammarat provinces, and Phuket, Songkhla, and Yala provinces.
Learned about Astrotourism, basic stargazing and preparation, using astronomical equipment, designing recreational astronomical activities, and much more. It was a packed program, lasting until 9-10 PM, with individual exams.
This allowed us to learn about organizing astronomical activities not only to host an activity but also to pass on to others who would like to learn. Thank you to everyone, including the staff at Sirindhorn Astronomical Park and all my fellow participants.
We all share the same sky, but we can't see the stars the same way because we create light that obscures the beauty of the dark sky. If we can manage light pollution, every sky everywhere will have beautiful stars to admire.
Dark-Sky Thailand, a public organization under the National Astronomical Research Institute of Thailand (NARIT), campaigns for the public to use light efficiently and with minimal harm to conserve the night sky under the campaign name "Dark Sky in Thailand," or in Thai, "Dark Sky Reserves in Thailand." The condition is that the location must offer clear views of the stars at night. This could be a national park, community area, or private property. An example is the "Aoraki Mackenzie Dark Sky Reserve" in New Zealand. Successful dark sky reserves offer ecotourism services, stargazing/night photography activities, accommodation, hotels, restaurants, souvenir shops, stargazing festivals, and special lectures, creating jobs and increasing income for the local community.
EcoThailand has supported Koh Phaluai, specifically Koh Phaluai Beach Bungalow, to be designated as a dark sky reserve on private land, pending further assessment by officials.

สำหรับในส่วนของการสำรวจพืช จำแนกชนิดโดย ผศ.ดร.พลวัต ภัทรกุลพิสุทธิ สาขาวิชาชีววิทยา คณะวิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี มหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฎสุราษฎร์ธานี ผลการสำรวจเป็นดังนี้
1. พืชที่ขึ้นเองตามธรรมชาติ รวม 23 ชนิด มีความหลากหลายทางชีวภาพที่สำคัญ
2. พืชปลูก 29 ชนิด เป็นแหล่งอาหารและพืชเศรษฐกิจที่สำคัญในพื้นที่
3. พืชต่างถิ่นรุกราน 3 ชนิด เป็นอันตรายต่อพืชพื้นเมืองและความหลากหลายทางชีวภาพ

For the plant survey, species identification was conducted by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Polawat Phatrakulphisut, Department of Biology, Faculty of Science and Technology, Suratthani Rajabhat University. The survey results are as follows:
1. A total of 23 naturally growing plant species were identified, exhibiting significant biodiversity.
2. 29 cultivated plant species were identified, serving as important food sources and economic crops in the area.
3. 3 invasive alien plant species were identified, posing a threat to native plants and biodiversity.

มูลนิธินิเวศวิถี EcoThailand Foundation จัดกิจกรรมชีวะตะลุมบอน BioBlitz ภายใต้โครงการ Nature-Positive Tourism for Community

เพื่อเป็นการสำรวจนก แมลง สัตว์ และพืช ในพื้นที่คุ้มสาเก ชุมชนเฉวงหน้าวัด อ.เกาะสมุย เป็นข้อมูลสภาวะธรรมชาติ State of Nature ในพื้นที่ โดยการมีส่วนร่วมจากชุมชน และผู้สนใจ เพื่อนำสู่ปฏิบัติการสำรวจธรรมชาติในเมือง (City Nature Challenge 2026)
ผู้สนใจจาก วิทยาลัยสหวิทยาการ เกาะสมุย ม.ราชภัฏสุราษฎร์ธานี และผู้ปกครองและน้องๆ ในพื้นที่สมุย จำนวน 20 คน
สำรวจนกในตอนเช้า พบนกจำนวน 17 ชนิด

2. นกปรอดคอลาย Stripe-throated Bulbul
3. นกกินปลีอกเหลือง Ornated Sunbird

ปล.กิจกรรมเราเน้นเรื่องการลดปริมาณขยะ ดังนั้นจะไม่มีขยะจากขวดน้ำพลาสติก เพราะใช้คูลเลอร์น้ำและแก้วใช้ซ้ำได้ และรณรงค์ให้ผู้เข้าร่วมนำกระบอกน้ำส่วนตัวมาเติมน้ำ อาหารใช้ภาชนะล้างใช้ซ้ำ
นอกจากนี้ยังรณรงค์ให้เดินทางมาด้วยกัน เพื่อลดการใช้พลังงานน้ำมัน โดยทีมวิทยาลัยสหการ มาพร้อมกันโดยรถตู้

EcoThailand organized the BioBlitz activity under the Nature-Positive Tourism for Community project,supported by The Intrepid Foundation.
The purpose was to survey birds, insects, animals, and plants in the Khum Sake area, Chaweng Na Wat community, Koh Samui district, to obtain data for the state of nature in the area. This was done with community participation to prepare for the City Nature Challenge 2026 in April.
Participants included students from the Koh Samui Interdisciplinary School, Rajabhat University Koh Samui, and parents and children from the Samui area, totaling 20 people.
Morning bird survey revealed 17 species of birds:
1. Greater-racket tail Drongo
2. Stripe-throated Bulbul
3. Ornated Sunbird
4. Brown-throated Sunbird
5. Chinese Pond Heron
6. Scarlet-backed Flowerpecker
7. Black Drongo
8. Blue-tailed Bee-eater
9. Eurasian sparrow
10. Common Myna
11. Coppersmith Barbet
12. Indochinese Roller
13. Asian Brown Flycatcher
14. Brahminy Kite
15. Yellow browed Warbler
16. Oriental Magpied-Robin
17. Yellow-vented Bulbul
Continued with using the iNaturalist app to explore nature. We divided into groups to explore insects and plants, and tried to record them in the app. Some of the highlights include:
1. Chrysocoris spp.
2. Millipede (Desmoxytes planata)
3. Junonia lemonias
4. Eurema spp.
5. Castalius rosimon
6. Argiope aemula
7. Golden Orb-weaver Spider
8. Red-headed lizard

P.S. Our activity focuses on waste reduction, so there will be no plastic water bottle waste. We used glass and cooler for drinking water, and encouraging participants to bring their own water bottles for refills. Food was served in reusable containers.
Additionally, we're encouraging people to travel together to reduce the use of fuel. Koh Samui Interdisciplinary School, Rajabhat University team were travel by van.
