Over the past six months, Hua Hin Municipality partnered with Chom D**g Villa as part of a nationwide initiative to compete for the ASEAN award for environmental awareness, emphasizing engagement with local schoolchildren through a carbon footprint measurement project. Numerous local schools visited Chom D**g Villa, where students actively measured and assessed the carbon footprints of the trees, significantly contributing to Hua Hin's achievement of the Certificate of Recognition for Clean Air. The municipality will now represent Thailand in the ASEAN environmental awareness competition, contending with strong competitors such as Singapore.
On Sunday, May 4th, the Permanent Secretary of Hua Hin Municipality, alongside teachers, students from Baan Hua Hin Demonstration School, and a professional photography team, visited Chom D**g Villa to document these environmental activities. Nam Neung, President and Co-founder of Blue Ocean Heritage, and Nam Ake, Outreach Coordinator, provided guidance and support during the carbon footprint measurements. They also shared insights about Blue Ocean Heritage's mission and discussed upcoming initiatives designed to involve local youth in beach and mangrove conservation. Blue Ocean Heritage continues its commitment to promoting environmental stewardship and looks forward to further collaboration with Hua Hin Municipality and local schools.
