Chard came to our home with Hepatitis and we thought he had just days to live!
It feels like only yesterday that a tiny, wide-eyed three-year-old stepped through our doors, seeking the warmth and stability our children’s home offered.
He was one of the many precious souls we've been privileged to nurture, but even then, there was a quiet strength about him.
He was always such a good boy, absorbing every lesson, every act of kindness, and every opportunity with a gentle spirit and an inquisitive mind. Now, the years have flown by, and that same quiet determination shines as he prepares to embark on the formidable journey to university.
Our hearts swell with a fierce pride, not just for his academic achievements, but for the incredible young man he has become.
He is a living testament to resilience, and our deepest hope is that he will make us all proud, not simply through his successes, but by showing others, especially those who walk in his initial footsteps, that starting from zero does not dictate your destination; it only makes the journey, and the triumph, that much more profound.
Take a look at picture of him today, 13 years later and now soon will be starting university if we can find someone to sponsor that.
Proud of you Mr. Chard. You have showed everyone never to give up.
