In 2021, the centenary celebration of the International Movement of Catholic Students (IMCS) Pax Romana saw global tertiary Catholic students convening to deliberate on their commitment to sustainability, peace, and justice. Envisioning the next century, they gave rise to the innovative "Pax Romana Institutes." At its core, this endeavor embodies IMCS's unwavering dedication to realize a worldwide
vision of a harmonious, equitable, and eco-conscious earth. Spearheading this initiative, the IMCS Asia Pacific secretariat took the leadership, founding the International Youth Training Centre (IYTC) in the captivating city of Chiang Mai, Thailand. The IYTC's primary goal was to nurture youth leadership, foster ecological justice, and integrate spirituality with action. By creating a supportive milieu, the centre aimed to equip students of all ages with the skills and knowledge required for societal transformation. Central to this mission was the cultivation of young leaders, poised to advocate for sustainability and justice, leaving an enduring imprint on their communities and the globe. Additionally, the IYTC remained steadfast in promoting ecological responsibility, instilling environmentally conscious practices and nurturing a generation of environmental champions. Recognizing the potency of faith as a catalyst for positive change, the centre aimed to harmonize spirituality with activism, infusing purpose and empathy into students' pursuit of social justice. The establishment of Chiang Mai's IYTC marked a milestone for the Pax Romana Institutes, propelling a century-long voyage towards empowering students to fashion a more inclusive, peaceful, and sustainable world.
