We are honored to announce that Elephant Retirement Park had the privilege of participating in the National Elephant Conference 2026, held at the Thai Elephant Conservation Center under the Royal Patronage in Lampang Province! 🇹🇭✨

This annual gathering brings together dedicated organizations, researchers, and experts passionate about the future of Asian elephants. Key discussion topics and objectives included:

Knowledge & Cultural Preservation: Exchanging insights and discussing sustainable strategies to conserve Thai elephants alongside the traditional culture of elephant caregiving (Mahoutship) in modern society.

Health & Care Innovation: Advancing knowledge in elephant husbandry, modern veterinary care, and overall herd health management.

Research & Knowledge Sharing: Showcasing and disseminating academic research and studies covering all dimensions of elephant welfare and biology.

Inter-Agency Collaboration: Fostering strong partnerships between public and private sectors to drive unified conservation efforts across Thailand.

Participating in events like this strengthens our commitment to providing the highest standards of care and ethical tourism for our rescued elephants. Together, we are building a safer, better future for Thai elephants! 💚🐾

August 12th in Thailand holds dual importance as both Mother's Day and World Elephant Day.🐘💚

Mother's Day (วันแม่แห่งชาติ)
- This day marks the birthday of Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother. Thais celebrate her lifetime of dedication to the country, honoring her as the "Mother of the Nation" while also showing gratitude to their own mothers with jasmine flowers.🩵🩵

World Elephant Day (วันช้างโลก)
- Established internationally on August 12, this day raises awareness about the conservation, protection, and ethical treatment of elephants Thailand's national symbol and a deeply revered cultural icon.💚🐘
