🏫 "God doesn’t make extras.”
At today’s Middle School Chapel kickoff, Mr. Roberts challenged us to think differently about respect—not simply as being polite, but as recognizing the God-given dignity of every person around us.
Beginning in Genesis 1:26–27, we were reminded that every person is created in the image of God. That means our value isn’t determined by popularity, ability, appearance, nationality, or what we can offer others. Every person matters because God made them.
The challenge was simple but powerful: Every person deserves respect because they bear God’s image—and we choose to give respect because we bear His image, too.
For our Middle School students, that can take shape in everyday moments: listening when someone else is speaking, including the quiet student, thanking those who serve our school, putting away distractions, or choosing not to tear someone down with our words.
As we begin another year of chapel together, may we learn to see one another as God does.
There are no extras in God’s story. Every person is someone God decided to make.
