The Chiangmai Youth Philharmonic Band and Symphony Orchestra (CPO)
Under this name there are three ensembles:
1. The Chiangmai Philharmonic Band
3. The Chiangmai Chamber Music
The members, about 100 musicians, are drawn from several schools around Chiangmai and near by provinces, including:
1. Duriyasilp the College of Music, Payap University

3. The Prince Royal’s College.

7. Dara Academy

All the develop countries realized that music is important to their people, especially children. To many people, music helps to balance between the physical world and spiritual world. We, musicians in Chiangmail, Thailand, see the important of the music and would like to give this precious gift back to our society. Starting by a small group of music lovers, students from different school and staff, we played music together at the Duriyasilp College of Music. Later, the group was getting larger and we have moved around from place to place and from school to school. On December 5th of 2007, we had our opening concert under the name The Chiangmai Youth Philharmonic Band and Symphony Orchestra at Kad Suan Kaew Theatre. The concert was successful. There were almost 1,000 people attended the concert and there were number sponsors. All the money we received from donation went toward instruments and covered the concert expenses. The next step for us is to update our organization to be a foundation. We are currently looking for more supports from donators to help us to become a stronger organization. There are a few such a group in Bangkok namely, The Bangkok Symphony Orchestra (BSO), The Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra (TPO). Hopefully, in the near future Chiangmai will have a strong and known group that will bring the balance and being a gift of music for our society name The Chiangmai Youth Philharmonic Band and Symphony Orchestra. Objectives:
1. To form up the Chiangmai Youth Philharmonic Band and Symphonny Orchestra for young people and those who interested in music.
2. To improve the musicianship skills for youth in Chinagmai to an international level
3. To have various ensembles: Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonic Band and Chamber Music for Chiangmai People and their city.
4. To provide activity and creativity for young people and those who interested in Music
5. To improve the working relationship between different organizations, private and government. Activities:
1. Rehearsal schedule:
The Chiangmai Symphony Orchestra: rehears every Saturday 7-9 pm. The Chiangmai Philharmonic Band: rehears every Monday and Thursday 7-9 pm. The Chiagmai Chamber Music: rehears TBA
All ensembles rehears in the green room, Kad Suan Kaew Theatre, Kad Suan Kaew.
2. Small Concerts:
Perform concerts by invitation from different organizations
3. Yearly Concerts:
There are four concerts in one year
4. CPO Music Camp:
To strengthen the musician skills, get to know each other better, and learn how to help and be a better person
5. CPO Music Workshop:
By inviting specialize from different places to give workshops or master classes to youth in Chiangmai

มูลนิธิวงดุริยางค์เยาวชนเชียงใหม่
เริ่มจัดตั้งมูลนิธิในปี 2552 โดยการรวมตัวของนักดนตรีจากกว่า 10 สถาบันการศึกษาในจังหวัดเชียงใหม่เพื่อให้วงดุริยางค์เยาวชนเชียงใหม่ ให้เป็นต้นแบบแก่สถานศึกษา เป็นศูนย์รวมและพัฒนาการเรียนรู้วงดุริยางค์ สากลของเยาวชน และเป็นศูนย์รวมเยาวชนที่สำเร็จการศึกษาแล้วให้ฝึกปฏิบัติดนตรีในระดับที่สูงขึ้นเพื่อส่งเสริมให้เยาวชนได้รู้จักการเล่นดนตรี การฟังดนตรี และเข้าใจดนตรีที่มีคุณค่า เพื่อทำให้จิตใจได้รับการกล่อมเกลา ให้อ่อนโยน โดยจะทำให้เยาวชนสามารถใช้เวลาว่างให้เกิดประโยชน์ ทำให้ห่างไกลจากสิ่งยั่วยุที่ไม่พึงประสงค์ และยังสามารถนำไปเป็นพื้นฐานในการประกอบอาชีพต่อไปได้ และเพื่อให้เกิดความสมดุลย์ในชีวิตของเยาวชนและบุคคลทั่วไป
ภายใต้ชื่อมูลนิธิวงดุริยางค์เยาวชนประกอบไปด้วยวงดนตรี 3 วง คือ

สมาชิกของทุกวงดนตรีมาจากการคัดเลือก (audition) โดยนักดนตรีจากหลากหลายสถาบันการศึกษาและผู้สนใจ เตรียมตัวฝึกซ้อมเครื่องดนตรีที่ตนถนัด แล้วเข้าร่วมคัดเลือก สมาชิกที่ผ่านการคัดเลือกจะมีโอกาสได้เข้ามาร่วมบรรเลงบทเพลงหลากหลายสไตล์ร่วมกับนักดนตรีจากต่างสถาบัน โดยการควบคุมดูแลจากคณาจารย์จากวิทยาลัยดุริยศิลป์มหาวิทยาลัยพายัพ และจากผู้ควบคุมวงดนตรีจากสถาบันต่างๆ เกือบทุกๆปี จะมีผู้เชี่ยวชาญมาเป็นผู้อำนวยเพลง ผู้ร่วมบรรเลง และร่วมสอนหรือจัดทำ workshop และ master class จากต่างประเทศให้แก่สมาชิกของวงดนตรีทุกวง เช่น

Atsuko Seta – Japanese pianist
CPO ได้จัดแสดงการแสดงทางด้านดนตรีประมาณปีละ 6-8 ครั้ง รวมทั้งเป็นเจ้าภาพร่วมจัดแสดงดนตรีในงาน Thailand International Composition Festival 2011 ที่ผ่านมา หรือในการจัดการแสดงคอนเสริต์การกุศล Nodame Concert ในวันที่ 24 กุมภาพันธ์ 2012 เพื่อหารายได้ช่วยเหลือผู้ประสบภัย Tsunami ที่ประเทศยี่ปุ่น และผู้ประสบภัยน้ำท่วมในประเทศไทย ทุกครั้งที่มีการจัดการแสดงจะมีผู้ชมประมาณ 600-1000 คนและจัดแสดงเป็นประจำที่โรงละครกาดสวนแก้ว
