Bees’ Club is now calling for applications from Myanmar youth for the 4-day Youth Leadership Exchange for Peace (YLEP) program, where participants will have the opportunity to learn, discuss, and exchange ideas together with university students from the United States.
Throughout the four-day program, participants will engage in the following activities:
• Visits to significant cultural and historical sites in Chiang Mai to explore local heritage and traditions
• Cultural exchange between Myanmar youth and Utah Tech students
• Participating in sessions on Peace Building, Conflict Resolution, Leadership, and Storytelling
• First Aid and CPR Training, equipping participants with essential life-saving skills
• Joining Chiang Mai city tour and nature trip
• Meeting with local community-based organizations and individuals

This YLEP program marks the third collaboration between BEAM and Utah Tech University, designed for youth who are seeking meaningful experiences and opportunities for personal growth during the summer.

📅 Program Dates: May 15 (Friday) - May 18 (Monday)

အခုလို နွေးထွေးစွာ ကြိုဆိုပြီး စိတ်ခွန်အားတွေ ပေးခဲ့တဲ့ Daughters Rising အဖွဲ့ကို အထူးပင် ကျေးဇူးတင်ရှိပါတယ်။ ဒီအရာ​တွေကို တန်ဖိုးထားပြီး နောက်အနာဂတ်မှာလည်း ရေရှည်လက်တွဲသွားနိုင်ဖို့ကိုလည်း မျှော်လင့်မိပါတယ်။

Just like bees visiting flowers to spread pollen, our Bees’ Club and BEAM staff spent this past Saturday (March 21) visiting the inspiring team of Daughters Rising at Chai Lai Orchid. 🐝🌸

It was an eye-opening experience to dive deep into their missions of empowering girls and young women through education, vocational training, and community initiatives. We learned so much about their commitment to creating safe, sustainable opportunities for marginalized ethnic communities.

The visit created a space for open exchange, where both sides shared their works, experiences and discussed potential areas for future works, with a shared vision of youth empowerment.
Throughout the visit, members were introduced to the organization’s various projects, scholarship opportunities for young girls and their impactful social enterprise at Chai Lai Orchid for the indigenous community. Moreover, our visit was further enriched by shared experiences in nature, including feeding elephants and visiting a waterfall, making the visit both meaningful and memorable. 🐘💦

A massive thank you to Daughters Rising for the warm hospitality and the inspiration. We’re so grateful for this connection and can’t wait to see how our relationship grows in the long run!

Community Youth Leader Development Program (CYLD) is the updated design of the former higher education preparation program (GED program), which operated as one of major activities at BEAM since its establishment in 2010.

What is the CYLD Program?
This intensive 10-month online learning program is for serious learners who are strongly motivated and ready to engage in rigorous academic and leadership training. While GED preparation is deeply challenging, this is NOT just a GED program; graduates from the CYLD program will be prepared for higher education and leadership within their communities.

Who can apply?
​​We encourage individuals ages 16 and up from marginalized communities, particularly Myanmar migrants and refugees, with strong aspirations and commitment to prepare for higher education and community leadership to apply for the program.

CYLD program instruction is conducted entirely online via Zoom and in English. Applicants should have an intermediate level English language skill (B2 or higher) to be eligible.

What is the application process?
APPLY - The application is open starting TODAY (February 2nd) until February 28th, 2026 (11:55 pm Thailand Time)
ENTRANCE EXAM - select students will be invited to take the CYLD entrance exam in March.
