Eid Mubarak to our cherished IFSA Asia Pacific family. Taqaballahu minna wa minkum, may Allah accept our fasting, prayers, and good deeds, and may He grant us forgiveness, peace, and renewed strength.

As the crescent moon marks the end of Ramadan, we are reminded of the values of patience, compassion, and unity that this holy month instills in us. Eid al-Fitr is not only a celebration of joy and gratitude, but also a moment to strengthen the bonds that connect us across cultures, countries, and communities.

From Jakarta to Tokyo, Manila to Sydney, and every corner of Asia Pacific, we stand together as one family, diverse yet united, youthful yet visionary. May this blessed day inspire us to continue building bridges of friendship, nurturing forests and communities, and championing justice-driven solutions for a sustainable future.

Let’s See Our Local Committees (LCs)!

Following the inspiring feature of AFFS–UPLB, we are excited to continue our journey of highlighting Local Committees across the Asia-Pacific region. This project celebrates the dedication, creativity, and impact of our LCs, while strengthening the bonds that unite us as one community.

For this edition of LSOL, we proudly present IFSA Hetauda from Nepal. Their passion and commitment to forestry education and community engagement shine through their initiatives, setting another strong example of how local committees contribute to our collective vision.

Stay tuned as we continue to showcase more LCs throughout the term, each bringing unique perspectives and achievements that enrich our Asia-Pacific network.

Let’s See Our Local Committees (LCs)!

After the success of past term, we are excited to continue our journey of highlighting Local Committees across the Asia-Pacific region. This ongoing project gives us the chance to recognize the dedication, creativity, and impact of our LCs, while also strengthening the bonds that connect us as one community.

For this term, we are proud to present the first edition of LSOL featuring Association of Filipino Forestry Students – University of the Philippines Los Baños (AFFS–UPLB) from Philippines. Their commitment and energy set the tone for what promises to be another inspiring round of stories and achievements from our committees.

🌸 New Project Unlocked: Language Exchange Program – Japanese Edition 🌸

We’re thrilled to unlock a brand-new chapter in our Language Exchange journey! This Japanese Edition is made possible through the collaboration of the Asia Pacific Regional Representative, the Head of the Language Sub-Commission, and IFSA Kyushu.

With Sakura Camp happening next month, this edition will strengthen friendships, empower communities, and create unforgettable exchanges across borders.

The phrase “馬力全開，好運不請自來,” means “Go full speed ahead, and good fortune will follow naturally.”
As we welcome the Year of the Horse, we’re wishing everyone energy, courage, and momentum to move forward in 2026.
Along with the festive atmosphere, you’ll spot some familiar Lunar New Year symbols —
🍊 oranges for good luck, 🧧 red envelopes for blessings, 🧨 firecrackers to drive away bad luck, and 🐲 the Nian beast that reminds us of welcoming a fresh start.
Wherever you are, we’re all part of the same IFSA family.

[After Report: 2nd Coffee Hour]

The 2nd Coffee Hour was successfully held last night! We’re deeply thankful to all IFSA Asia-Pacific members who joined, engaged, and made the session lively and fun.

Together, we explored the highlights of activities from three LCs, IFSA-Hetauda, IFSA NCHUFSA, and AFFS-UPLB. We also had the pleasure of introducing the presidents of each LC, creating space to know them better and spark new collaborations.

The evening wrapped up with dynamic breakout room discussions, leaving us inspired and connected for the journey ahead.

🌍 World Wetlands Day 🌿💧

Wetlands are among the most productive ecosystems on Earth — supporting biodiversity, storing carbon, and protecting our coastlines.

During IFSS 2025 in Indonesia, IFSA participants explored blue carbon and visited mangrove wetlands, learning how wetlands play a key role in climate action and biodiversity conservation. 🌱🌊
Through on-site discussions and field visits, we witnessed how mangroves function as powerful natural carbon sinks while supporting both ecosystems and local communities.

Together, let’s take action for wetland conservation and a sustainable future. 💙🌏

PROJECT REPORT: IFSA LC SHARING SESSION!

LCSharing Session Series is built to empower young people across Asia-Pacific, creating spaces where they can share expertise, speak with confidence, and connect beyond borders. The first session spotlighted Taiwan’s youth, who showed how artificial intelligence can guide forest research from raw data to actionable results.

This is just the beginning, a platform dedicated to amplifying perspectives, building solidarity, and inspiring the next generation of changemakers. We will explore the potential members to be speakers for the next series.
