In the beginning, the LDC initiated HIV/AIDS prevention trainings for tribal laborers working in Chiang Mai city. We soon found, however, that many laborers infected with HIV/AIDS would return to their villages after being ostracized from the community in Chi

ang Mai. Hill tribes had little to no information on the dangers of HIV/AIDS, and the epidemic spread throughout the villages. The LDC turned their focus to helping and improving the quality of life for the hill tribes. Now, the LDC works closely with many villages evaluating current needs and planning new projects based on those needs.
