What happens when seed bank principles meet real-life practice?
During our field trip to Mae Tha, we explored P’Pui’s small, locally led seed initiative, where she produces organic seeds for local farmers, with some also sold through Greennet Organic Center.
Mae Tha may not be a fully developed community seed bank, but it offers valuable insights into how seed initiatives work in real life. Together, we explored their purpose, observed what works in practice, and reflected on how local context shapes each initiative.

ในการศึกษาดูงานครั้งนี้ เราได้เรียนรู้จากโครงการเมล็ดพันธุ์ขนาดเล็กที่นำโดยพี่ปุ้ย ผู้ผลิตเมล็ดพันธุ์อินทรีย์เพื่อแบ่งปันให้เกษตรกรในท้องถิ่น และจำหน่ายบางส่วนผ่าน GreenNet
แม้แม่ทาจะยังไม่ใช่ธนาคารเมล็ดพันธุ์ชุมชนที่พัฒนาเต็มรูปแบบ แต่ที่นี่เป็นพื้นที่เรียนรู้ที่มีคุณค่า ชวนให้เราทำความเข้าใจเป้าหมายของโครงการ สังเกตสิ่งที่เกิดขึ้นจริง และเรียนรู้ว่าบริบทของแต่ละชุมชนส่งผลต่อการจัดการเมล็ดพันธุ์อย่างไร 🌿
