Leadership, in exile. Hope, under pressure.
After the 2021 coup, Duwa Lashi La became one of the leading voices of Myanmar’s pro-democracy movement, representing the civilian government removed by military force.
As Acting President of the National Unity Government, he has helped unite resistance efforts while calling for a future built on federal democracy, shared power, and ethnic inclusion.
His leadership matters not only politically, but symbolically. Card J reminds us that resistance is also about imagining a different future.
