𝗣𝗔𝗧𝗠𝗲𝗚𝗛 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗝𝗜𝗧𝗠𝗠 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱🌴
The Philippine Association of Tropical Medicine and Global Health, Inc. (PATMeGH) representatives, led by the President, 𝗗𝗿. 𝗪𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝗟. 𝗥𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮, together with founding members, 𝗗𝗿. 𝗣𝗶𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗹𝗶 𝗚. 𝗩𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹, 𝗗𝗿. 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻 𝗘𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝗩. 𝗔𝗱𝗮𝗼, 𝗗𝗿. 𝗝𝗼𝘆 𝗔𝗻𝗻 𝗣. 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗼𝘀, 𝗗𝗿. 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲 𝗖. 𝗬𝗹𝗮𝗱𝗲, and 𝗗𝗿. 𝗩𝗮𝗻 𝗝𝗲𝗿𝘄𝗶𝗻 𝗣. 𝗠𝗲𝗿𝗰𝗮𝗱𝗼, proudly joined the annual 𝗝𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱, held on December 2–4, 2025, at the Eastin Grand Hotel Phayathai, Bangkok, Thailand 🌏🤝
Anchored on the theme “𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐃𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝,” the international gathering brought together global health leaders, researchers, and partners to advance tropical medicine, strengthen collaboration, and promote sustainable health solutions that transcend borders.
Through shared commitment and collective action, three PATMeGH founding members presented their research studies to help build bridges toward a healthier and more connected world:
• 𝐒𝐮𝐛𝐭𝐲𝐩𝐞-𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝑩𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒄𝒚𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒔 𝐬𝐩. 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬, presented by 𝗗𝗿. 𝗗𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻 𝗘𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝗩. 𝗔𝗱𝗮𝗼 as an invited speaker for S24, highlighting host specificity, genetic diversity, and zoonotic insights of Blastocystis sp. in the Philippine setting.
• 𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐚𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐀𝐬𝐢𝐚, presented by 𝗗𝗿. 𝗣𝗶𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗹𝗶 𝗚. 𝗩𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹 under S09, emphasizing antimicrobial resistance challenges in agriculture through a One Health lens, with implications for public health and food safety.
• 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐚 𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐮𝐬 𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐠𝐧𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐥 𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐏𝐀–𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐟𝐥𝐨𝐰 𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐚𝐲, presented by 𝗗𝗿. 𝗝𝗼𝘆 𝗔𝗻𝗻 𝗣. 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗼𝘀 under S13, showcasing an innovative, rapid, and field-ready diagnostic approach to improve rotavirus detection.
Together, these contributions underscore PATMeGH’s continued commitment to advancing scientific excellence, fostering international collaboration, and translating research into meaningful actions for sustainable global health.
