Reminder time!! 📆

WBC NZ is not a sanction that wants to hand out titles without any requirement to defend.

That’s not how we roll and it is not how we create legacy or legitimacy for fighters

Our suggestion is work in with promoters who have you the chance for a start and see what can be done so everyone grows together. 🤝

WBC is happy to help give you the opponents eligible so you can work with promoters to defend your titles or if you are a ranked fighter and would like to contest a title and have a promoter on board let us know so we can approve the request and let the promoter approach the current champion. 🥇 Please note WBC is not a promoter and while we are happy to help point in the right direction we are not a negotiation service between camps and promoters.

Our list of current champions 🥇🥇

To date in 2026 there has ONLY been 1 professional female MuayThai fight in New Zealand. This highlights that something needs to be done to lift the opportunity for our female fighters at a high level.

We have been inspired by the recent JSMT: CROWN and the upcoming ARWUT FIGHT GEAR Dungeons ARWUT FIGHT GEAR Ying promotion on October 31st which will feature 6 WBC MuayThai world titles and we want to get our girls heading towards these awesome opportunity’s in the future.

WBC MuayThai NZ is looking at creating our own 8 fight Muay Ying Promotion to create opportunities and exposure to international opponents.

We are interested in hearing from female fighters to gauge interest in such an event here in NZ. Once we have a bit of an idea if this can be a success we will look at dates and options for venues around NZ.

Nominations and interest need to consider:

Retired pro female fighters are welcomed wholeheartedly.

Fights will be 3x3 pro rules only

We would like to invite Australian nominations for two international matches.

Let us know any pro matches you would buy tickets to come and see

The event would not be available to view via livestream platforms.

WBC MuayThai NZ Administration warmly welcomes Sherman to our team to coordinate medics for WBC sanctioned events.

With proposed changes to the Wrestling and Boxing Act coming, we have created this position to ensure that WBC Sanctioned bouts have qualified and skilled medics that can treat athletes injuries between rounds, supply the restricted medicines to allow treatment of cuts and the ability and qualification to stitch cuts post fight and save hours of waiting in A&E for fighters.

Additionally documents have been created around procedures and protocol for medical situations, including proper post fight reports that can be retained for promoter and govt official requests should they be required.

Sherman will be our point of contact for your shows medics to ensure the above is kept at a high level so promoters and fighters can be assured fighter safety is the most important priority
