🎬 OPENING FILM ANNOUNCEMENT
VIFF 2026 is proud to announce ONE CUT MONK ("Wan Cut, Dee Noh")
the Thai feature selected as the Opening Film of the VIPA International Film Festival 2026.
Shot in a single continuous 100-minute take, the film tells the simple, quiet story of an Isaan community through compassion, hope, and the power of seeing the world with optimism.
The film doesn't tell the life story of the revered monk Dee Noh directly — instead, it carries forward his philosophy of optimism, a message that has earned recognition from international festivals in India, Germany, and the United States, winning three international awards.
Join us for the festival's opening night and experience 100 uninterrupted minutes of storytelling in one continuous take. The film speaks to faith, gratitude, and the quiet power hidden in the simplest of stories — made for anyone exhausted by life, anyone who needs a reminder that the world still holds hope, and anyone who believes small acts of kindness can carry us through the hardest days.
