During this week's visit to Spin Boldak in Kandahar, IOM Afghanistan Chief of Mission Mihyung Park assessed border operations and preparedness as returns are expected to increase. With Afghanistan already facing one of the world’s largest displacement crises, additional arrivals will need further support at both border points and in areas of return.

“IOM and partners are strengthening preparedness at key crossing points to respond to potential influxes,” said Park.

IOM as chair of the Border Consortium remains on the ground providing life-saving assistance, including reception support, MPCA/cash, and protection services for returning families and individuals
