Another incredible weekend for the NomadMania community meet ups!

This past weekend (Sep 12 - 26), NomadManians gathered in different parts of the world, with the same shared spirit!

Everyone came together to swap travel tips, discuss future adventures, and forge wonderful new friendships.

Limassol, Cyprus 🇨🇾 Sun, sea, and endless travel tales!

Our members gathered in Limassol for coffee, drinks, and great company. 🙌

A huge thank you to Chryso Ioannidou for hosting, and an extra special appreciation for Vassilis Stamatelopoulos, who flew in all the way from Greece specifically to attend and support the event! Now that is true community dedication.

Meanwhile, the NomadMania spirit was shining just as brightly in Beijing! Our members connected over their shared passion for exploration. 👏

A massive thank you to Jeff Niu , who organized this fantastic gathering entirely on personal initiative without holding an official Envoy role.

Series Highlight Friday🥳

This week, we’re highlighting Series items associated with the Prophet Abraham, the foundational patriarch of three major world religions, with fascinating locations connected to his story spread across several countries.

🇹🇷 Şanlıurfa, Türkiye
In southern Türkiye, the city of Şanlıurfa is home to several Abraham-related Series items, including the Mevlid-i Halil Cave, traditionally believed in Islam to be his birthplace; Balıklıgöl (Fish Lake), where tradition holds that Abraham was thrown into the fire by Ni**od and miraculously survived; and the nearby Şanlıurfa Castle.

🇮🇱 The Holy Land
In Jerusalem, the Temple Mount is sometimes identified with Mount Moriah, where Abraham is traditionally said to have nearly sacrificed Isaac. In Beersheba, visitors can see Abraham’s Well, associated with the covenant he made with Abimelech, king of Gerar. In Hebron, the Cave of the Patriarchs is traditionally regarded as Abraham’s burial place.

🇮🇶 A side quest to Iraq
To cover your bases, you can also visit the Ur Ziggurat in Iraq, which many scholars have associated with the biblical “Ur of the Chaldees”, identified in Genesis as Abraham’s birthplace. This identification, however, is not universally accepted.

Whether you’re interested in religious history, ancient traditions, or simply exploring places connected to one of history’s most influential figures, these Series items offer a fascinating way to follow Abraham’s story across the region.

The first NomadMania meetup in Launceston, Tasmania!!!😍

On 5 September 2026, NomadManians came together for the very first NomadMania Meetup in Launceston, Tasmania! 🎉

It was wonderful to see members of our community gathering in person, sharing stories, experiences, and, of course, enjoying some good food and great company.

A huge thank you to the host, Dondon Bales for coordinating the meetup and helping cultivate the NomadMania spirit in Launceston. ❤️ And thank you to everyone who participated and made this first gathering happen!

We expect to see more meetups more often around the world.

Serires Highlight Friday!!🎉

This week, we’re highlighting the Nomad Games!

With several Nomad Maniacs currently in Kyrgyzstan for this year’s Games, it seems like the perfect time to shine a spotlight on this fascinating Series item.

First hosted in 2014, the Nomad Games are now returning to their spiritual home on the shores of Lake Issyk-Kul, after two editions abroad in Turkey and Kazakhstan.

Currently, 19 Nomad Maniacs have ticked this Series item, and our NomadMania share your location function shows five users right at the epicentre of the Games, with others exploring the shores of Issyk-Kul.

Among them is our Southern Africa Envoy, Stephanie Heung, who appears to be visiting the stunning Jeti-Ögüz Rocks south of the lake.

And Issyk-Kul has plenty more to discover! Along its shores you’ll find Series items including Tamga Beach, the ancient petroglyphs of Cholpon-Ata, and downhill skiing in Karakol.

So keep exploring, keep discovering, and keep submitting your worthy finds our way!😍

Series Highlight Friday 🤗

This week we highlight a brand new Series Item that is also brand new to the world - the Our Lady of Mercy statue in Konotopie, Poland.

Polish user Michał Młotowski was quick to submit this item the moment it was unveiled to the world on 15th of August this year.

While our Religious Monuments series is full of Marian statues, this one is certainly worth a detour as it is the tallest statue of Mary in Europe and the tallest statue anywhere in the European Union!

The statue dwarfs the small town of Konotopie and was an act of devotion by wealthy Polish locals Roman and Grażyna Karkosik that set them back a staggering €23 million.

At 55m meters tall, the statue dwarfs the Christ Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro by 25 meters, but it in turn is dwarfed by the Mother of All Asia, the largest Marian statue in the world, located in Batangas in the Phillipines, which stands 98 meters tall!

14 users have made it to the Mother of All Asia, but not a single person has yet made the pilgrimage to Konotopie.
