ใช่เลย — คุณกำลังจดจำ Progress Pride Flag
ธงประจำขบวนของ Bangkok Pride ตลอดสามปีที่ผ่านมา
ธงที่ไม่ได้เป็นเพียงสัญลักษณ์ของความหลากหลายทางเพศ
แต่เป็น “ภาษาที่พูดแทนหัวใจของผู้คนที่เคยถูกทำให้เงียบงัน”
> จากรุ้งแห่งการเฉลิมฉลอง สู่รุ้งแห่งการเปลี่ยนแปลง
ธงสีรุ้งดั้งเดิมถือกำเนิดขึ้นในปี ค.ศ. 1978 โดยศิลปินเกย์ชาวอเมริกันชื่อ กิลเบิร์ต เบเคอร์ (Gilbert Baker) เพื่อเป็นสัญลักษณ์ของการเฉลิมฉลองความหลากหลายของเพศและอัตลักษณ์ในงาน Pride ครั้งแรกในซานฟรานซิสโก
แต่เวลาผ่านไป เส้นทางของการต่อสู้ก็ลึกซึ้งขึ้น เสียงที่ถูกมองข้าม เสียงที่ไม่อยู่ในกระแสหลักเริ่มเรียกร้องพื้นที่ของตัวเอง และในปี 2018 ศิลปิน nonbinary ชาวอเมริกันชื่อ แดเนียล ควาซาร์ (Daniel Quasar) ได้หยิบเอาธงรุ้งเดิมมาพัฒนาให้ก้าวหน้าขึ้น – ให้มันไม่ใช่แค่ “สวย” แต่ ยุติธรรมและครอบคลุม มากยิ่งขึ้น
> แล้วอะไรคือ "Progress"?
ในเวอร์ชันของควาซาร์ ธงรุ้งเดิมยังคงอยู่ แต่เขาเพิ่มแถบสีใหม่ในรูปตัว “V” (chevron) ด้านซ้ายของธง เพื่อเป็นเส้นที่ “ชี้ไปข้างหน้า” — สื่อถึงความเคลื่อนไหว ความเปลี่ยนแปลง และการไม่หยุดนิ่งของขบวนการความหลากหลายทางเพศ
แถบตัว V นี้ประกอบด้วย:
- สีชมพูอ่อน + ฟ้าอ่อน + ขาว จากธงคนข้ามเพศ (Transgender Pride)
- สีน้ำตาล + สีดำ แทนชุมชนคนผิวดำและน้ำตาล ซึ่งมีบทบาทสำคัญในประวัติศาสตร์ LGBTQIAN+ แต่กลับมักถูกลืม3
- สามเหลี่ยมเหลือง + วงกลมม่วง เพิ่มโดยนักเคลื่อนไหวชื่อ วาเลนติโน เวคเคียตติ ในปี 2021 เพื่อยกพื้นที่ให้กับ อินเตอร์เซ็กซ์ — ผู้คนที่เกิดมาพร้อมลักษณะทางเพศผสม และมักถูกละเมิดสิทธิทางร่างกายตั้งแต่วัยเด็ก
ทุกสี ทุกเส้น ทุกมุมของธงนี้คือการประกาศว่า “เราจะไม่ทิ้งใครไว้ข้างหลัง”
> สีรุ้งเดิมยังคงอยู่ — เพราะมันคือรากของการเคลื่อนไหว
ด้านขวาของธง ยังคงมีสีรุ้ง 6 สีของธงดั้งเดิม
แดง – ชีวิต
ส้ม – การเยียวยา
เหลือง – แสงแดด
เขียว – ธรรมชาติ
น้ำเงิน – ความสงบ
ม่วง – จิตวิญญาณ
สีเหล่านี้คือ “แก่น” ของขบวนการ Pride ที่เริ่มจากความหวัง ความรัก และการเยียวยาหลังจากการถูกกดทับ
> แล้ว Bangkok Pride เลือกธงนี้ทำไม?
คำตอบสั้น ๆ คือ เพราะเราเชื่อใน Pride ที่ไม่มีใครตกหล่น
ตั้งแต่ปี 2022 จนถึงปัจจุบัน Progress Pride Flag คือธงหลักของทุกกิจกรรม Bangkok Pride — ไม่ว่าจะเป็นงานเปิดตัวที่พารากอน ขบวนพาเหรดกลางสีลม งานเสวนาในห้าง หรืองานฉลองในพื้นที่ภูมิภาค ธงนี้ไม่ใช่แค่ของคนเกย์ หรือเลสเบียน หรือคนข้ามเพศเท่านั้น แต่เป็นของทุกคนที่เคยรู้สึกว่าตัวตนของตนไม่ได้รับการยอมรับ เป็นของเด็กวัยรุ่นที่เพิ่งกล้าเปิดเผยเพศสภาพ เป็นของคนข้ามเพศที่ต้องต่อสู้เพื่อสิทธิในการมีบัตรประชาชนตรงกับตัวเอง เป็นของคนอินเตอร์เซ็กซ์ที่ยังไม่มีพื้นที่ให้เล่าเรื่องของตัวเอง และเป็นของคนผิวดำ ผิวคล้ำ และคนชายขอบที่เคยถูกทำให้เงียบ
ธงนี้จึงไม่ใช่แค่ "ธง"
แต่มันคือ “การยืนยันตัวตน”
คือคำพูดแทนใจที่ว่า “เราอยู่ตรงนี้ และเราจะไม่หายไปไหน”
สำหรับบางคน มันแค่ผืนผ้า...
แต่สำหรับอีกหลายล้านคน มันคือชีวิต

Flag No.1 — Progress Pride Flag
The flag that has flown high at every Bangkok Pride Parade for the past three years.
“It’s not just a rainbow... but a symbol of pride for identities once rendered invisible.”

If you joined the Bangkok Pride Parade anytime from 2022 to 2024,
If you ever received a small flag handed to you along the parade route,
Waved it proudly in your hand,
Or looked up at the giant flowing flag stretching across Silom Road...
Yes — you remember the Progress Pride Flag,
The banner of Bangkok Pride for the past three years.
It’s not just a symbol of LGBTQIA+ diversity,
But a language that speaks on behalf of those who were once silenced.
> From a Rainbow of Celebration to a Rainbow of Change
The original rainbow flag was created in 1978 by American gay artist Gilbert Baker as a symbol of celebration for diverse s*xualities and identities at the first Pride in San Francisco.
But over time, the journey deepened. Voices long overlooked—those left out of the mainstream—began to demand space. In 2018, Daniel Quasar, a nonbinary American artist, reimagined the rainbow flag—not just to be “beautiful,” but to be just and inclusive.
> So, What Is “Progress”?
In Quasar’s version, the original rainbow remains—but he added a chevron-shaped "V" on the left side of the flag, pointing forward, symbolizing progress, movement, and the ongoing evolution of the LGBTQIAN+ movement.
This chevron includes:
- Light pink, light blue, and white — from the Transgender Pride Flag
- Brown and black — representing Black and Brown communities, whose roles in LGBTQIA+ history have often been overlooked
- Yellow triangle with a purple circle — added in 2021 by activist Valentino Vecchietti to represent inters*x people, who are born with mixed s*x characteristics and often experience physical violations from a young age
Every stripe, every line, every corner of this flag declares: “We leave no one behind.”
> The Original Rainbow Remains — Because It’s the Root of the Movement
On the right side of the flag are the six original colors of the rainbow flag:
- Red – Life
- Orange – Healing
- Yellow – Sunlight
- Green – Nature
- Blue – Serenity
- Purple – Spirit
These colors reflect the core of the Pride movement—born from hope, love, and healing after oppression.
> So Why Did Bangkok Pride Choose This Flag?
The short answer: Because we believe in a Pride where no one is left behind.
Since 2022, the Progress Pride Flag has been the central symbol at all Bangkok Pride events—whether the launch at Paragon, the parade through Silom, panel discussions in malls, or celebrations in the provinces.
This flag is not just for gay people, le****ns, or trans individuals—
It is for everyone who has ever felt their identity was unseen.
For the teenager just starting to come out.
For the trans person fighting to have a national ID that reflects their true self.
For inters*x individuals still waiting for a platform to tell their stories.
For Black, Brown, and marginalized people who have long been silenced.
This flag is not just a piece of cloth
It is a declaration of identity.
A heartfelt statement:
“We are here. And we’re not going anywhere.”
For some, it’s just a banner...
But for millions,
It means life.
