People across Thailand are rushing to withdraw cash after a sweeping crackdown on fraud has led to thousands of bank accounts being frozen — including those of innocent vendors.

Authorities say scammers have been exploiting online purchase systems, using “mule accounts” to launder stolen money. Many regular vendors, who have no idea anything wrong was happening, are now caught in the crossfire.
