Another visit for Ten cases of Hands-on ERCP at Mahosod hospital Vientaine , Loas. We could finish the first day earlier than usual (around 8PM) , so we could have a chance for proper dinner ( grill pork belly or ‘Sin-dard’ in Laotian). We also provided many kind of carts for tidy-up Endoscopy Unit at this hospital. 🙂

We are grateful for the support from a kind-hearted family who donated 2 gastroscopes and 2 Endosurgical units to 2 hospitals in Laos; Setthathirath hospital(Vientiane) and Khammouane Provicial Hospital (Khammouane). * Special thanks to our generous donors; Mrs.Supawan Lam Sam, Mr.Supraprat Punyarachun and Mrs.Tanika Punyarachun. * These equipments will be beneficial to all the patients who come for endoscopy services at both hospitals.

Second Collaborative Conference ; GEDF & Setthathirath hospital. Our conference theme was “Upper GI bleeding in 2026”.

More than 60 attendees, all over the country, joined this event with a very good feed-back from Laos’ doctors and nurses.

Our visit to Mahosot-Setthathirath- Mittapab hospitals, LAPDs between May, 18-20,2026. In conclusion, 6 ERCP cases with 5/6 difficult cannulation at Mahosot hospital😉 + 1 case of re-insertion of Endoscopic Gastrostomy tube due to Berry Bumper at Setthathirath hospital 😞 + a young female case with main duct type IPMN underwent EUS at Mittapab hospital (which then referred for surgery). *** All these cases, demonstrate of how far we have been traveling with the Local endoscopists ‘to improve the endoscopy services in our neighbor country’. 🙂 GEDF team will keep our pace steady, not too rush!!! ** ‘Rome wasn’t built in a day’ 🙂 Remember this!!!

Our trip to Nakornthai Crown Price hospital during May,27-28,2026. 🙂 We performed 16 basic endoscopy procedures and another 6 (very)difficult cases of ERCP and 2 EUS by dr.Elavin. Our anesthesiologist , dr. Mayuree, also demonstrated how to use propofol sedation during EGD and Colonoscopy, plus a lecture about it too. Unfortunately, in this visit, one of our beloved junior endo-surgeon got sick from flu B. 😞 We hope that she will recover very soon. And, we wish all the local staffs of Nakornthai ‘s hospital will always be strong and healthy, so that they can take care all the patients in the districts nearby. See you g**s again in August!
