Buddha's Teaching

Buddha's Teaching HOW TO RELEASE YOUR MIND Especially, the sexual desire seems to be a desideratum for almost all people around the world.

Some people said that Buddhism is a very-hard-to-understand religion and its theory, which is sometimes called the Dhamma, seems contradictory to the normalcy of the worldly like. For example, the Buddha taught the people to get rid of their desires that look very hard to be destroyed and many people do not want to do so. Of course, in my view, such opinion seems right...but not. In fact, all living beings in the world now are under the influence of several kinds of suffering because of their own desires which seem very excessive and out of control. For instance, as you can see for yourself, whenever your excessive want arises in your mind, you will then feel uneasy immediately. If you get angry with a tough guy and you eagerly want to kill him or to knock him about- your mind will be serious and extremely hot. These really are the worst influence of desires that usually make you suffered and provoked. So the Buddha taught: "Desires really are the causes of suffering". Buddhism is, in fact, the natural theory of controlling or training your mind to be without excessive desires at first and to demolish them entirely at last. However, you could have your happy and comfortable life a usual, but there will be nothing to make you uneasy as usual. This can be called, "The unusual being usual" that means your life will surprisingly be better than it usually is now. The simplest way to understand the real Budhism is to know how to make your mind tranquil and wise by concentrating it and making it released. When your mind is released, because of the absence of spiritual attachment to any hated or loved thing, you will know what the Buddha's mind is. This implies the true meaning of the following Buddha's words, One who has realized the Dhamma, State of mind without suffering, is one who has realized me (his real mind)". Suffice it to say that the Buddha's mind is without suffering because he had completely trained his mind to be tranquil and released. This is called "Nirvana" which means the state of absolute freedom that nobody will have self to be born again, because mind has released its feeling of self entirely.

The Jinabanchara Gatha (The Armor of the Victor)
The Jinabanchara Gatha is a powerful protective prayer attributed to Somdej Toh of Wat Rakang. It invokes the power of the 28 Buddhas and the great Arahant disciples to protect the practitioner from all harm.

English Summary of Meaning
1. Invocation of the 28 Buddhas:

"May the Buddhas, who have attained the seat of victory and conquered the Mara (the tempter) along with his army, bestow upon me the eternal truths."

2. Protecting the Body (The Armor):

"I invoke the 28 Buddhas to dwell upon the crown of my head. I invoke the Buddha and the Dhamma to protect my eyes. I invoke the Sangha (the Order of Monks) to dwell in my chest."

3. Invoking the Great Disciples:

"I invoke the great disciples—Sariputta to my right, Moggallana to my left, Kassapa, Ananda, and many others—to protect every part of my body, from my face to my limbs, as if building a fence of virtues around me."

4. The Protective Power:

"May the power of these holy beings surround me like a great wall. May I be protected from all dangers, all obstacles, and all suffering. May the power of the Jinabanchara protect me always and bring me great prosperity."

Tips for Reciting in English Context
• For Devotion: It is recommended to chant the Pali text (the original language) for its vibration and tradition, while keeping the English translation in your heart to understand what you are calling upon.
• Meaning of "Jinabanchara": The word means "The Cage of the Victorious One" (Jina = Victor/Buddha, Banchara = Cage/Armor). It is essentially a spiritual shield.

The Om Mantra (also spelled Aum, written as ॐ) is the most sacred, primordial sound and symbol in Hinduism, representing the source of all existence, divine energy, and the vibration of the universe. It is widely used across yoga, meditation, and spiritual practices globally to quiet the mind, release negative blocks, and align personal energy with the cosmos.

Cosmic Meaning of A-U-M
Though written as "Om", the traditional pronunciation is split into three distinct syllables—A, U, and M—followed by a moment of silent resonance. Each component holds deep spiritual symbolism:

A (Aaaaa): Initiated from the abdomen. It represents the waking state of consciousness, the energy of creation, and the Hindu deity Brahma.
U (Uuuuu): Vibrates within the chest and throat. It represents the dream state of consciousness, the energy of life preservation, and the deity Vishnu.
M (Mmmmm): Vibrates inside the head and crown. It represents the deep sleep state of consciousness, the energy of destruction/transformation, and the deity Shiva.
The Silence: The quiet space at the end of the chant represents pure transcendental consciousness, bliss, and the absolute reality beyond physical boundaries.

How to Practice Om Meditation

Find a quiet space: Sit comfortably with a straight spine, ideally with legs crossed.
Rest your hands: Place your hands on your knees with your palms facing up, letting your thumb and index fingers touch (Jnana Mudra).
Take a deep breath: Inhale fully through your nose to prepare your lungs.
Chant with awareness: Exhale while singing out the sound A-U-M. Focus intensely on feeling the physical vibration rise from your stomach, travel through your chest, and buzz out through the top of your head.
Pause in silence: Allow a few seconds of silent stillness to pass before taking your next breath to repeat the loop. Practitioners often repeat this cycle 108 times using a traditional prayer mala.

Prayer of Merit and Divine Grace
With my pure body and soul,
I humbly accept all merits I have cultivated,
Receiving all that is worthy and appropriate for me in every way.
By the power of the merits and virtues I have built,
From countless past lives unto this present existence,
May the light of these accumulated merits
Be the beacon that guides my path.
May they be the supporting factors for me to encounter goodness and happiness,
Success, good fortune, wealth,
And prosperity in both the material and spiritual worlds,
Throughout my entire life on this Earth.
I pray by the power of the virtues I have practiced,
That I may reach success and fulfillment in all aspirations.
May the Light of Dhamma guide my body, mind, and spirit.
May the Devas and Celestial Beings direct me toward the rightful worldly paths,
Granting me happiness and the fulfillment of my heart’s desires.
May I find a path that is virtuous, excellent, and great—
Great in the Dhamma—endowed with mindfulness and wisdom.
May I possess the intuitive wisdom to realize the sublime Dhamma
Of the Blessed One with ease,
Seeing through all things with clear and piercing insight.
I pray by the power of the virtues I have practiced,
That I may reach success and fulfillment in all aspirations.
May the Light of Dhamma guide my body, mind, and spirit.
May the Devas and Celestial Beings direct me toward the rightful paths.
For all that I have done for myself and for many others,
I invoke the power and grace of all Sacred Beings
To support and sustain me in every aspect and every direction.
Whatever I undertake, may I do so with mindfulness and wisdom,
With intuitive insight that awakens in both worldly and spiritual realms,
Staying awakened until the very end of this life.
May my soul find the guiding light of Dhamma,
Leading me toward Nirvana—the eternal bliss.
