HOST’s online Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) Awareness and Prevention Online Training for urban refugee communities has reached its halfway point, with encouraging participation and positive feedback.
Sexual and reproductive health remains a sensitive and often taboo topic in many communities. Language barriers and limited access to trusted information can make it especially difficult for women, girls and young people to ask questions and make informed decisions about their health and safety.💚
Through community interpreters, HOST provides a safe, non-judgmental space where participants can learn and discuss SRH issues in their own languages. For some, this is their first opportunity to access this information and ask questions without fear of embarrassment or judgment.
Early feedback suggests participants are becoming more comfortable discussing previously sensitive topics. As the remaining sessions continue, HOST will assess changes in knowledge and confidence and use participant feedback to strengthen future training.
