UNICEF's Regional Office for South Asia (ROSA) is dedicated to advancing the realization of the rights of all children in South Asia, especially the most marginalized and disadvantaged children.

Distance should never stand between a child and the healthcare they need.

For families living in Mongolia's remote communities, accessing health services can mean travelling long distances, especially during harsh winters.

Together with the Government of Mongolia and with support from the Government of Japan, UNICEF is helping bring healthcare closer through digital solutions. The eMongolia app allows families to access health records, receive immunization reminders and connect with essential health services, helping ensure children get the care they need, wherever they live.

Because every child deserves the best start in life, no matter where they are born.

Quality education transforms a child's life, opening doors to opportunity, health and dignity that last a lifetime.

Yet 121 million children across Asia and the Pacific remain out of school, held back by poverty, geography, disability, conflict and other barriers. Millions more are in classrooms but are not learning the foundational skills they need to thrive.

Together with governments and partners, UNICEF is helping ensure children are ready for school and schools are ready for children: strengthening early learning, supporting teachers and building more inclusive, resilient education systems.

Skills can open doors to new opportunities, and help young people shape their own futures ✨

At 19, Vian never imagined she would study computer science. But after joining UNICEF’s Skills4Girls programme in Indonesia, she discovered a passion for coding that gave her the confidence to pursue her dream. Today, she's studying at one of the country's leading technology universities. Vian's story is a reminder that when girls get the opportunity to build new skills, they can unlock new possibilities for their future.

Vaccination coverage across Asia and the Pacific may be holding steady, but millions of children are still being left behind.

In 2025, around 3.7 million children across the region received no routine vaccines at all — including 1.9 million in South Asia and 1.8 million in East Asia and the Pacific. Another 1.4 million were only partially protected.

Behind every number is a child left vulnerable to diseases we know how to prevent. Gaps in protection, including against measles, remain a serious concern in parts of the region.

Vaccines give children the chance to grow up healthy — to learn, play and reach their full potential.

We cannot call it progress while millions of children are still unprotected. Every child, in every community, deserves a healthy start and the protection vaccines can provide.

71 million children in Asia and the Pacific are stunted, preventing them from reaching their full potential.

Good nutrition begins before birth and continues through the early years of life. Yet too many women and children across the region are still malnourished , putting children's growth, development and future at risk.

Together with governments and partners, UNICEF is strengthening nutrition services for women and children, from pregnancy through early childhood, to give every child the best start in life.
