Global Alms Incorporated

Global Alms Incorporated There are thousands of women and children who are currently at risk within Asia.

Global Alms Incorporated is an Australian not-for-profit organisation (INC: IA41929 , ABN: 28 801 980 120) dedicated to the elimination of trafficking, s*xual exploitation and the physical abuse of men, women and children. A child is being trafficked across international borders every 30 seconds, and forced to work in hazardous conditions in many industries, including the s*x trade. Many of the co

mmunities do not have legal protection or educational opportunities leaving men, women and children extremely vulnerable. Operations Manager, Yuki, Business Manager, Winnie, and Case Advocate, Sila, visited one of our clients who is currently going through some health challenges. Although her condition has improved a little, she is still facing difficulties and continues to need support and care.

During the visit, the team spent time checking on her well-being, offering encouragement, and providing assistance in any way possible. They had meaningful conversations with her, listened to her concerns, and learned more about her daily routine and current health situation. It was encouraging to see her openly sharing her experiences and feelings with the team.

The visit was also a reminder of the importance of continued support, compassion, and human connection during difficult times. By being present, listening, and showing care, we hope to help her feel supported, valued, and not alone as she continues her recovery journey.

Operation Manager, Yuki, Case Advocate, Sila, and Intern, Yamin, visited one of our clients and her children to check on their well-being and spend quality time with them. During the visit, they shared conversations, offered encouragement, and were happy to see the client smiling, laughing, and looking healthy and strong. Her children are also doing well, healthy, active, and growing stronger.

These visits are very important because they help clients feel cared for, supported, and loved. Taking time to listen, encourage, and simply be present can make a meaningful difference in their healing journey and remind them that they are not alone. We will continue supporting and empowering our clients as they rebuild their lives with hope and confidence.

Our Operation Manager, Yuki, recently provided hands-on training to our intern, Yamin, on how to prepare essential items and support for new clients arriving at our shelter.

Yamin also learned how to communicate with clients with empathy and professionalism, ensuring they feel heard, respected, and supported throughout their stay. Regular check-ins, emotional support, and understanding each client’s immediate needs are all important parts of helping survivors feel safe and cared for.

Through mentorship and practical experience, we continue strengthening our team’s ability to provide compassionate and trauma-informed care to every client who comes to our shelter. Together, we remain committed to supporting women and children with dignity, kindness, and hope.

Case Advocate, Sila, is supporting our intern, Yamin, in completing detailed client case notes after returning from a recent community visit. These moments go beyond documentation.

Each visit brings stories of resilience, where clients share both their struggles and their successes. Seeing their smiles, hearing their laughter, and witnessing their strength reminds us why this work matters. These meaningful conversations are often the most powerful part of our day.

We are always happy to support them in anyway we can. Every story deserves to be heard, and every individual deserves the chance to thrive.

Business Manager, Winnie, is providing hands-on training to Intern, Yamin, on managing Yes She Matters cases. This includes guiding her on how to conduct professional and empathetic client interviews, accurately complete case documentation, and follow proper procedures for reporting cases to the police.

The training also covers explaining the full case management process, tailored to the nature and complexity of each situation. Yamin is also learning how to maintain confidentiality, best practice in maintaining ethical standards, assessing client needs, coordinating with relevant stakeholders, and providing appropriate support and referrals. Through this structured mentorship, she is building the skills and confidence needed to handle cases with professionalism, sensitivity, and care.

Our Case Advocate Sila, and Intern Yamin visiting one of our Yes She Matters clients.

Her life is still challenging, but her strength as a mother shines through in everything she does. She continues to show up, give her best, and fight for a better future for her children every single day.

We're so encouraged to see her children safe, healthy, and full of joy. Moments like this remind us that progress, no matter how small, is powerful.

We will continue to stand beside her offering support, care, and advocacy in every way we can. Because behind every story of struggle, there is courage, resilience, and the possibility of transformation ✨

Together, we keep moving forward.

Pt 2. Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
Returning from Kenya, Global Alms Incorporated CEO Mechelle B Moore was able to secure a visa and step out in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia during the 8hr layover. Mechelle was able to spend time with friends, colleagues and their families from Addis Ababa. There was also enough time for an authentic Ethiopian meal and quick tour of Addis Ababa.

Time was not on her side, but when does that stop a Kiwi on a mission? A special highlight for Mechelle was definitely having the opportunity to meet up with individuals again who survived* the scamming compounds. *No survivors are featured in this reel.

"It was a beautiful thing to hug them again and know theyre safe. 🥰 Their strength and resilience continue to inspire me deeply. Every step forward is powerful, and every moment of safety matters." - Mechelle B.J Moore

Grateful to witness their courage and to share even a small part of their path.

Pt 1. Mobassa, kenya
Global Alms Incorporated CEO Mechelle B Moore had the opportunity to travel to Mombasa, Kenya 🇰🇪 earlier this year. Mechelle was invited by UNODC - United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime ROEA and Atlas Free to attend a regional forum as a panellist. Mechelle was given the opportunity to speak about our teams counter trafficking work in Southeast Asia, pratical pathways towards effective change and meet many experts in their fields.

Mechelle was also able to meet face to face with colleagues (both civil society and government officials) for the first time. Hundreds of hours managing cases over the phone to support victims of trafficking as theyre identified as victims and repatriated home over the past 4 years. Collaboration makes a huge difference when managing resources and meeting face to face across continents for the first time was special. 🫂 ♥️ 🌍

As CEO Mechelle B Moore was invited by the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) Regional Migration Team, to participate in a Deep-dive Meeting: Towards Effective Responses to Trafficking for Forced Criminality – Understanding Vulnerabilities to Fraudulent Recruitment and Eploitation by Cyber Scam Operations. The event was organised by OHCHR and the ASEAN-Australia Counter Trafficking (ASEAN-ACT) team.

Mechelle appreciated the opportunity to meet up with colleagues from civil society, embassies and government agencies that we work alongside to recover and support potential victims of trafficking for forced criminality. 💡 It was an interesting approach to apply a behavioural science and systems thinking lens across the issue. We are looking forward to seeing the next steps ...

Our Operations Manager, Yuki, is actively working on strengthening and updating our Counter-Trafficking Unit (CTU) database. By keeping our records accurate and current, we’re ensuring that every decision we make is informed, timely, and effective.

In the fight against human trafficking, information is power. The more precise our data, the better we can identify needs, track progress, and deliver meaningful support where it matters most.
