Special Event

This year, for our last meeting on Tuesday, 9 December, we will hold a gift exchange.

Everyone who would like to participate is asked to bring a gift-wrapped present (250 to 300 Baht).

Please do NOT select a gift or prepaid card.

All presents will be placed together, and then, based on a pre-selected order, each person will select and immediately open their gift.

Anyone following can, if they wish, take a gift that has been opened by any earlier person or select an unopened one.

If someone takes a previously opened gift from someone, that person must give up their selected gift, and then has the chance to select and open another one.

Gifts can change hands many times until the last gift is opened.

This requires downplaying 'desirable gifts' and promoting the values of 'less desirable gifts.'

If you do not wish to be included, not a problem; you can just sit back and enjoy the process.

At our last meeting on Tuesday, 30 September, the Capitol Toastmasters Club was infused with the theme of "VICE," resulting in a captivating and entertaining evening.

The diverse speeches provided unique perspectives on the theme, and our Kangaroo Court added a fun twist by determining the guilt or innocence of selected members in relation to various vices.

Capitol Toastmasters Club is one of the few Toastmasters clubs in Bangkok that continues to meet in person every non-holiday Tuesday.

This allows our members the opportunity to socialize in English from the time they arrive until, sometimes, well after the meeting, to develop lifelong friendships with members from around the world, and to significantly enhance both their communication and leadership skills in a supportive environment.

If you are eager to enhance your public speaking skills, expand your social circle, and have an exciting Tuesday to look forward to, we invite you to join us as a visitor.

We meet every non-holiday Tuesday from 6:15 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Located at the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit Hotel, a short stroll from BTS Asok and MRT Sukhumvit Station.

For visitors, the room fee is 400 Baht, which covers the cost of the meeting venue and includes complimentary coffee/tea and cookies in the luxurious setting of a five-star hotel. Reservations are not necessary, just come along when you can.

As one of the few Toastmasters Clubs in Bangkok that meet only in person, we like to hold thematic meetings.

This month, our theme is 'VICES', where we'll be exploring the not-so-guilty pleasures that make us human.

Featuring a diverse lineup of three great speakers and many more of our members sharing their VICES, this promises to be an engaging and thought-provoking meeting.

Venue: Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit, 2F, from 18.15.

Room Fee: 400 Baht for guests, which includes coffee/tea and endless cookies.

To continue providing high-quality Toastmasters meetings at a five-star Hotel like the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit, we need to adjust our meeting entrance fee slightly.

From Tuesday, 2 September 2025, we will charge 350 THB for our club members and 400 THB for guests.
