Last Thursday, the STCC, together with the Franco-Thai Chamber of Commerce (FTCC), Thai-Swedish Chamber of Commerce, and NTCC - Netherlands-Thai Chamber of Commerce, welcomed business leaders, sustainability practitioners, and innovators to the Sustainability for Business Forum 2026 at The Athenee Hotel, Bangkok.

Through three dedicated tracks, Retail, Scope 3, and E-Mobility, the forum explored how sustainability is evolving from a corporate responsibility initiative into a business imperative that drives resilience, innovation, and long-term value creation.

In the Retail track, discussions centred on Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) and how businesses can embed sustainability throughout the product lifecycle. Panellists highlighted the interconnected challenges of packaging across industries, from beauty and manufacturing to food and beverage, and demonstrated how cross-sector collaboration can reduce environmental impact while improving operational efficiency and cost effectiveness.

The Scope 3 track examined the growing importance of value chain emissions. While sustainability conversations have traditionally focused on Scope 1 and 2 emissions, panellists emphasised that meaningful progress requires organisations to collaborate across entire supply chains. A key takeaway was clear: real sustainability cannot be achieved in isolation—it requires collective action across industries and stakeholders.

The E-Mobility track explored the transition towards cleaner transport systems through electrification, smart mobility solutions, and low-carbon logistics. Discussions highlighted the opportunities for businesses to adopt innovative mobility models, optimise transportation networks, and contribute to more sustainable and liveable cities.

A sincere thank you to our distinguished panellists and moderators for sharing their expertise and insights, and to all participants for contributing to engaging discussions throughout the afternoon.

We would also like to thank our sponsors for their valued support:

• Diamond Sponsor: Nestlé Nespresso SA
• Gold Sponsor: KLM Royal Dutch Airlines
• Silver Sponsors: BNP Paribas, Schneider Electric, INSEE Ecocycle Thailand, ZeroSixOne Co Ltd

The STCC had the pleasure of meeting with the Sandoz Thailand team, including Khun Isabel Maya Martínez, Country Head of Sandoz Thailand, Khun Boon Huey Ee, President of the Asia Cluster, alongside representatives from the Embassy of Switzerland in Thailand, for an engaging exchange of ideas and discussions on key topics shaping the healthcare landscape in Thailand.

We were especially delighted to gather on the occasion of the visit of the President International of Sandoz, Khun Peter Stenico, creating a valuable opportunity for meaningful dialogue and exchange.

During our meeting, we explored the role of pharmaceutical generics in Thailand, as well as the importance of responsible antibiotic use and raising awareness among both the medical community and the wider public.

These conversations highlight the value of collaboration in addressing important healthcare topics and driving positive impact. The STCC looks forward to future collaborations and continued exchanges with Sandoz Thailand.

The Swiss-Thai Chamber of Commerce (STCC) is pleased to share an insightful commentary article by our Board Director, Khun Chana Poome, published in the Bangkok Post Commentary Section on 8 May 2026 under the title “Stop Undervaluing Vocational Talent.”

In the article, Khun Chana highlights the long-standing stereotypes surrounding vocational education in Thailand and challenges the perception that academic pathways alone define success. As industries continue to evolve, vocational education plays an increasingly important role in developing practical, industry-ready talent and equipping individuals with the specialised skills needed in today’s workforce.

The commentary also emphasises the importance of reshaping public attitudes towards vocational careers and recognising vocational talent as a key driver of Thailand’s future competitiveness and economic growth.

We encourage our community to read and reflect on this timely perspective.
