In 2019, the World Muaythai Council unified with IFMA into the International Federation of Muaythai Associations. At present there are 148 member countries with over 500,000 registered athletes. Muaythai is recognised by the International Olympic Committee, fully WADA compliant and included in many multi-sport games such as the World Games, European Games, Indoor Asian Games and the list goes on. There is full gender equality and WMC with IFMA will continue to protect and promote the cultural heritage of muaythai as the sole recognised muaythai organisation in the Olympic movement.

BMT Fight: Italian Title to be Contested

Professional Muaythai in Italy continues to develop with the upcoming BMT Fight 2, taking place on 24 October 2026, where a new WMC Italian Professional Champion will be crowned.

The 61.24 kg Italian Professional Title will be contested between Kevin Greco and Davide Gesuito, with both athletes stepping into the ring with the opportunity to claim national bragging rights and further establish themselves on the Italian Muaythai scene.

The event is sanctioned by the World Muaythai Council (WMC) and Federkombat, the sole Italian member federation of the International Federation of Muaythai Associations (IFMA).

National championships play an important role in the development of professional Muaythai. They provide athletes with a clear pathway to compete for national glory while gaining the experience and recognition needed to progress onto the international circuit.

The WMC is pleased to support the continued development of Muaythai in Italy and congratulates everyone at BMT Fight for putting together what promises to be an exciting night of professional Muaythai.

With the Italian title on the line, BMT Fight 2 will provide another important opportunity for athletes to compete at the national level and take the next step in their Muaythai careers.

Pride Fight Series Returns to Adelaide for Landmark 10th Instalment

The Pride Fight Series will celebrate a major milestone in Australian Muaythai when the popular promotion returns to Adelaide for its 10th instalment on Saturday, 17 October 2026.

Sanctioned by the World Muaythai Council (WMC) and Muaythai Australia, Australia’s sole recognised national federation within the International Federation of Muaythai Associations (IFMA) sport system, the event will bring another night of professional Muaythai action to South Australia.

The milestone edition of Pride Fight Series will take place at Harts Mill in Port Adelaide, with organisers promising something special to mark the promotion reaching its tenth show.

Over the course of its events, Pride Fight Series has continued to provide opportunities for Australian athletes to compete, develop their experience and showcase the strength of the country’s Muaythai community.

The 10th edition represents another important step in the continued development of Muaythai in Australia, with WMC-sanctioned events providing a structured pathway for athletes competing at the professional level.

With Adelaide ready to welcome the promotion once again, anticipation is building for a special night as Pride Fight Series reaches its 10-show milestone.

🇭🇺 HISTORIC NIGHT FOR MUAY THAI IN HUNGARY

A new chapter in Hungarian professional Muay Thai was written on 2 October 2026 at Apex Fight, as the country hosted its first-ever WMC Hungarian National Championship.

The six-bout professional card featured several standout performances, including WMC European Champion Lukas “Mando” Mandinec 🇸🇰, who faced Hungarian fighter Tamás Birics 🇭🇺 in the latest chapter of their rivalry. With the series previously tied 1–1, Mandinec secured the victory to take the lead.

Heavyweight Sándor Kertész 🇭🇺 also earned a points victory, building valuable momentum ahead of his WMC Hungarian title fight in November.

🥊 HISTORY MADE

The main event saw Krisztofer Nagy (Re-Gym) face Tamás Seffer (Kurdy Gym) over five rounds for the inaugural WMC 66.68 kg Hungarian National Championship.

After five competitive rounds, Nagy was awarded the victory by unanimous decision, becoming the first-ever WMC Hungarian National Champion.

WMC Champion Anna Lia Moretti Set to Represent Italy During the IFMA European Championships

Italy’s Anna Lia Moretti is preparing for her next international assignment as she has been selected to represent Italy at the upcoming IFMA European Championships in Paris.

Moretti has established herself as one of Italy’s leading female Muaythai athletes and has won both the WMC national and European titles. Her championship experience has seen her compete at the professional level at home in Italy, and she will now switch her attention to national-team duties when she joins the Italian delegation in France.

The championships will take place from October 17–25, with Moretti entered in the senior women’s 57kg division. She will be one of four athletes named in Italy’s team for Paris.

For the WMC champion, Paris presents another opportunity to stay active and test herself against international opposition, representing her country at the highest level.

🏆 NEW WMC AUSTRIAN CHAMPION 🇦🇹

Fabienne "Lioness" Reiser (Novo Athletics Weiz) captures the WMC Austrian Women's Welterweight Title (-66.6 kg), edging Yeliz "The Turkish Turbine" Aykac (Team Jovanovic, Vienna) by unanimous decision at Novo Athletics Fight Night 3 in Weiz, Austria.

Three rounds, nothing between them – the first WMC women's title fought for in Austria in five years went right down to the scorecards, and the hometown fighter did just enough. Reiser moves to 4-0; Aykac leaves with her head held high after a superb performance.

Congratulations to the new champion, to both fighters, and to Novo Athletics for a great night of Muaythai. 🙏

Mohammad Zain Returns for Interstate Clash at Pride Fight Series

The Road Train is back. South Australian Muaythai fighter Mohammad Zain returns to action this October at the Pride Fight Series, where he will face Victoria’s Tom Moroney of WFC in a highly anticipated interstate clash.

Moroney comes into the contest following a major stoppage victory at Warriors Way, setting the stage for an exciting five-round encounter against Zain. With South Australia and Victoria set to meet in the ring, both fighters will be looking to make their mark in what promises to be a competitive interstate matchup.

The event will take place on Saturday, 17 October 2026, at Harts Mill in Port Adelaide, South Australia. The amateur card will open the day's action, with doors opening at 9:30am and the first fights scheduled to begin at 10:30am.

The main card will take place in the evening, with doors opening at 5:00pm and fights scheduled to begin at 6:30pm. Fight fans can look forward to seeing Mohammad Zain, the Road Train, back in action as he represents South Australia against Victoria's Tom Moroney over five rounds at Pride Fight Series.

Four WMC Cameroon Championship belts are set to be contested, creating new opportunities for athletes to compete for national honours and establish themselves among Cameroon’s leading professional Muaythai athletes. 🏆

The championships mark another positive step in the continued development of professional Muaythai in Cameroon, providing athletes with a pathway to compete at national level and earn WMC recognition.

The event is officially sanctioned by the World Muaythai Council (WMC) and the Cameroon Muaythai Federation, IFMA’s sole member federation in Cameroon.
