ICWAP International Community of Women Living with HIV Asia &Pacific ICW ASIA PACIFIC IS THE ONLY REGIONAL NETWORK RUN BY AND FOR WOMEN LIVING WITH HIV IN THE REGION BASED IN BANGKOK. NOTHING FOR US WITHOUT US!!

❌Over 40 million people globally were living with HIV in 2024.
❌Every week, 4,000 adolescent girls and young women in sub-Saharan Africa acquired HIV in 2024.

Yet, funding cuts continue to weaken the response and limit people's access to essential HIV medicines and sexual and reproductive health services.

Sexual and reproductive health and rights ( ) are key to an effective AIDS response.
Let's call to re-prioritize prevention to , NOW.

Global gender justice spaces must include and center the people most affected by injustice. Yet is not accessible to many.

Structural barriers include:

🛂 Passport discrimination
🚫 Restrictions on civil society participation
⚠️ Security risks for advocates traveling from Global Majority countries

With the Women Deliver 2026 Conference ( ) taking place just one month after CSW, we are offering it as an alternative space for the inclusive dialogue, movement leadership, and collective action that CSW is currently unable to fully hold.

We will engage at in a limited and intentional way.

Withdrawing completely would risk ceding ground to coordinated anti-rights actors — so we will use our privilege and access to help hold the line against rollback while advancing the Declaration for the International Development Sector 📝

✊ On behalf of the APRCEM constituency of People Living with and Affected by HIV, Sita Shahi urged that reforms should anchor on the colonial origins of underdevelopment and to dismantle colonialities, reforms must be grounded in Southern narratives. Reforms should also enact accountability for actors worsening underdevelopment, whether multilateral, state, or corporate.
