😄 Fake it till you make it!

That was the message from our Toastmaster of the Day, TM Bud, who got everyone energized with a taste of laughter yoga to kick off another engaging Toastmasters meeting.

From there, we explored a wide range of topics and skills:
🎤 A thought-provoking speech on the Culture Map and navigating negative feedback in different cultures
🎤 Insights into emotional intelligence and brain talents
🎤 A vocal variety speech about a comedian who kept returning to the stage despite the frequent joke that didn't land

The learning didn't stop there! Our Table Topics Master, TM Blair, challenged participants with impromptu negotiation scenarios concentrating on negative feedback, giving everyone a chance to think on their feet and practice persuasive communication.

From laughter yoga to negotiations, emotional intelligence to negative feedback skills, this meeting was packed with learning, growth, and plenty of laughs along the way.

We can't wait for more at our next meeting on June 17th! 🎉

📸 Meetings, teamwork, celebrations, brainstorming sessions, and plenty of learning along the way!

As this committee term begins to wind down, we're celebrating the wonderful volunteers who have worked behind the scenes to support our club and its members.

Thank you to every committee member who stepped up to serve, contribute, and help create a positive and encouraging environment. These experiences, and memories made throughout the term are just as valuable as the achievements themselves.

Getting together outside the usual Toastmasters setting is always fun — and yesterday’s meet-up at Fitness First- Platinum Q House Lumpini was the perfect afternoon recharge! 💃😊

We met up for an engaging fitness talk and energetic Zumba session led by the Fitness First team, filled with lots of laughter, movement, and learning. We loved the simple stretches to help keep away effects of office syndrome- hunched necks, and sitting too long.

A big shoutout to TM Wilai and Fitness First team at Platinum Q House Lumpini for making the session so energetic and enjoyable! 💪✨

Thanks to everyone who joined us for the fun, fitness, and great company.

🎶 “What song best represents your momentum?”

That was the question our Toastmaster of the Day, TM Shwe asked as she kicked off our meeting by singing a few lines from a song that represented her own momentum

The musical vibe continued as the audience sang Auld Lang Syne together with the first speaker, creating a warm and memorable moment of connection that truly captured the spirit of the evening. 🎤✨

The next speech focused on incorporating feedback from an earlier speech, while taking the audience through how different people can react very differently to the same problem — and still find ways to work through it.

We concluded with an engaging panel discussion titled Club Behind the Club, giving the audience a behind-the-scenes look at the teamwork and collaboration that keeps the club running. The session was not only insightful, but also a great learning experience on how panel discussions are conducted and moderated.

From music and laughter to meaningful conversations and supportive evaluations, the meeting showcased what makes public speaking communities so special — learning together while having fun along the way. 🎉

For our 10th anniversary, Empower Toastmasters Club Empower Toastmasters Club wanted to celebrate in a meaningful way.

In partnership with Volunteer To The World and HDF Mercy, our members conducted a public speaking workshop for Thai-speaking students in Khlong Toei.

At first, the language barrier seemed like a challenge.

But very quickly, we were reminded that effective communication starts before words.

Through gestures, eye contact, vocal variety, and presence, our members were able to connect with the students, guide them through the basics of public speaking, and help them build confidence.

By the end of the workshop, the students were standing up and delivering speeches in Thai.

We may not have understood the words, but we clearly saw the confidence they had gained.

A heartfelt thank you to our ExCo and members for their enthusiasm and dedication, to Volunteer To The World for designing and coordinating the initiative, and to HDF Mercy Centre for welcoming us so warmly.

This was a beautiful reminder that communication can connect people across languages, cultures, and communities.

🎂 “Whose day is a birthday really — the child’s or the mother’s?”

That thought-provoking question set the tone for an engaging and fun Toastmasters meeting around the theme Birth Day!

From heartfelt reflections to communication insights and spontaneous storytelling, the meeting explored a variety of speaking styles and experiences:

✨ A personal speech on health without dieting that deeply connected with the audience
✨ Insights into what went into building a communication plan for an impact trip
✨ A speech on what happens if you go off script

The fun continued during Table Topics with creative questions around birth and celebration, bringing out spontaneous stories, humor, and thoughtful perspectives from participants.

The evaluations wrapped up the meeting with valuable learning moments on:
🎤 Using visual models effectively
🎤 The power of three
🎤 Stronger audience attention-grabbers
🎤 Purposeful pauses

🎉 Happy 10th Anniversary, Empower Toastmasters Club! 🎉

What does Empower Toastmasters mean to you?

As Toastmaster of the Day, TM Pongsakorn opened the meeting with this warm-up question, the room quickly filled with heartfelt answers — unity, confidence, brotherhood, growth, networking, speeches, training, multicultural friendships, a welcoming community, and a space free of judgement. It was a beautiful reminder of what this club has meant to so many over the past decade. ✨

We were honored to hear a special video message from our founder, Amelie, sharing the story of how Empower Toastmasters began 10 years ago and the vision that brought the club to life.

The meeting continued with three engaging speeches:
🎤 First Speaker reflected on her experience at the Impact event, reminding us how impact can be created far beyond words
🎤 Second speaker shared valuable lessons from the world of investments
🎤 Third one brought public speaking expertise and spontaneity to the stage through a challenging speech on the power of humor in Impromptu speech

The energy carried into an inspiring Table Topics session led by TM Bua on the theme: “What do empowering voices sound like to you?”

Members spoke passionately about finding empowerment in unexpected places — through vulnerable voices, quiet confidence, meaningful connections, and even fantasy football! Every response reflected the diverse voices and perspectives that make Empower so special.

The celebration concluded with thoughtful evaluations, laughter, cake cutting, and lunch shared together as a community. ❤️
