UNDP x Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment: 5-Year Partnership Plan for Climate Resilient, Nature-Positive Future
UNDP held discussions with Dr. Raweewan Bhuridej, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, on environmental cooperation under the five-year Country Programme Document (CPD) 2027–2031.
Key points from the discussion
🌎From policy to investment: Presented an integrated approach to climate action, biodiversity and sustainable finance.
🌎Empowering communities: Shared progress on UNDP projects supported by the Global Environment Facility (GEF), spanning policy-level action to community empowerment.
🌎Technology and innovation: Discussed UNDP’s role in supporting Thailand through technical expertise, technology and access to finance.
🌎Responding to urgent challenges: Identified areas for cooperation to address transboundary pollution.
The meeting reaffirmed the importance of collaboration among agencies at both national and regional levels to jointly advance Thailand towards a future where the environment, society and economy can thrive together. 🌱

วันอนุรักษ์พะยูนแห่งชาติ ชวน “ยืด” เวลาให้กับพะยูนกับเสื้อยืด Icons of Hope 🩵🫧
ในปี 2566 ประเทศไทยพบพะยูนเพียง 282 ตัว แต่ในช่วง 5 ปีที่ผ่านมา พบพะยูนตายไปแล้วกว่า 142 ตัว หรือมีพะยูนตายเฉลี่ยถึง 25 ตัวต่อปี มากกว่าอัตราการเกิดใหม่ที่มีเพียง 17.5 ตัวต่อปี
เสือยืด Icons of Hope รุ่น Marine จะช่วยยืดชีวิตให้พะยูน ยืดอนาคตให้ท้องทะเล เพราะกำไร 100% หลังการขายเสื้อยืดคอลเล็กชัน Icons of Hope รุ่น Marine จะถูก “ยืด” ไปสนับสนุนโครงการของชุมชนที่ปกป้อง Iconic Species ของระบบนิเวศทะเล เช่น น้องพะยูน ผ่านโครงการ GEF-Small Grants ที่ UNDP สามารถดูรายละเอียดช่องทางการสั่งซื้อในคอมเมนต์
บ้านของพะยูนกำลังเปลี่ยนไป และหญ้าทะเลแหล่งอาหารสำคัญกำลังลดลงจากทั้งการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศ มลภาวะ และกิจกรรมของมนุษย์ เมื่อหญ้าทะเลหายไป ไม่ใช่แค่พะยูนที่ได้รับผลกระทบ แต่ยังหมายถึงการสูญเสียแหล่งอนุบาลสัตว์น้ำที่เป็นแห่งอาหารของหลายชีวิตใต้น้ำ นำไปสู่การสูญเสียความหลากหลายทางชีวภาพ และความสมดุลของระบบนิเวศทะเลที่ผู้คนต่างพึ่งพา

เปิดตัว Learning Programme พลิกโฉมบริการสาธารณะไทย 💡
รู้หรือไม่ ? 🤔 การยกระดับบริการสาธารณะให้ได้มาตรฐานสากล คือหนึ่งในโจทย์สำคัญของประเทศไทยในการมีส่วนร่วมกับ OECD และผู้กำหนดนโยบายไทยมีบทบาทสำคัญ ที่จะช่วยขับเคลื่อนการเปลี่ยนแปลงนี้ !
Thailand Policy Lab โดยสภาพัฒน์-UNDP ร่วมกับสำนักงานคณะกรรมการพัฒนาระบบราชการ (ก.พ.ร.) และภาคีเครือข่ายระดับสากล เปิดพื้นที่ชวนภาครัฐในระดับกระทรวงฯ และหน่วยงานที่ให้บริการสาธารณะ ออกแบบ-วางแผนแนวทางการพลิกโฉมบริการสาธารณะในประเทศไทยด้วยมาตรฐานสากลและนวัตกรรมนโยบายระหว่างวันที่ 18–19 สิงหาคมนี้
โดยมีเป้าหมายสำคัญคือ
💭เปิดพื้นที่ให้หน่วยงานภาครัฐ ผู้บริหารระดับสูง และสมาชิกสภาผู้แทนราษฎร ร่วมแลกเปลี่ยนบทเรียนและประสบการณ์
💭 นำแนวคิดและมาตรฐานสากลมาปรับใช้ให้เหมาะกับบริบทของประเทศไทย
💭ร่วมวางรากฐานการบริการสาธารณะที่ทันสมัย โปร่งใส และตอบโจทย์ประชาชนมากขึ้น
องค์การเพื่อความร่วมมือทางเศรษฐกิจและการพัฒนา (OECD) ชี้ว่า 7 ใน 8 ประเทศจากเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ได้สำรวจความพึงพอใจของผู้ใช้บริการสาธารณะ แต่ข้อมูลเหล่านี้กลับยังไม่ถูกเปิดเผยอย่างเป็นระบบ ทั้งที่ความคิดเห็นของประชาชนสามารถช่วยให้ภาครัฐมองเห็นปัญหาและนำไปสู่การปรับปรุงการบริการให้ดีขึ้นได้

Launching Thailand‘s Learning Programme on Transforming Public Services💡
Did you know? 🤔 Improving public services is a key priority for Thailand on its engagement with OECD and Thai policymakers will play a vital role in driving this transformation !
The Thailand Policy Lab by NESDC-UNDP in partnership with the Office of the Public Sector Development Commission (OPDC) and international partners launch a learning programme on “Transforming Public Services in Thailand”, bringing Thailand’s ministries and government agencies on 18-19 August to build a more people-centered, inclusive and transparent public services with international standards and policy innovation.
The workshop aims to:
💭 Provide a platform for government agencies, senior officials, and Members of Parliament to exchange experiences and lessons learned
💭 Explore how international approaches and standards can be adapted to Thailand’s context
💭 Lay the foundation for public services that are modern, transparent, and more responsive to people’s needs
According to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) findings, 7 out of 8 Southeast Asian countries survey public service users about their satisfaction. However, these results are rarely made public even though citizens’ feedback can help governments identify gaps and improve public services.
Join us as Thailand takes another important step towards transforming public services and bringing international standards into practice. 🚶‍♀️🌱

🏆 ทีม A9d (อะไนดี) จากเพชรบูรณ์: พัฒนาระบบรวบรวมเศษซากพืชทางการเกษตรมาหมักแปรรูปเป็นปุ๋ยอินทรีย์เคมีแจกคืนเกษตรกร พร้อมให้ส่วนลดและแต้มสะสม เพื่อลดการเผาเศษพืชที่เป็นต้นเหตุของฝุ่น PM 2.5 และช่วยลดต้นทุนค่าปุ๋ยให้แก่เกษตรกรในชุมชนอย่างยั่งยืน

Youth’s Business Ideas for a Greener Future in Northern Thailand 🌱🌏
Over 36 young people from across Northern Thailand joined Better Future Labs to design responsible business solutions that advance
climate action and forest protection. Set in a region where forests, clean air, local communities, and community business like tourism are closely connected, the Better Future Lab programme takes youth to explore how responsible business and everyday choices can help protect nature while supporting local livelihoods.
The winning teams were also selected to further develop their ideas into real-world solutions and campaigns. Congratulations to:
🏆 Team RiceGuard from Nakhon Sawan Province — for developing a community-based environmental and market measures in Sa Kaeo Subdistrict, Lat Yao District, by encouraging buyers to reject agricultural products which involve using rice straw burning, helping break the cycle of PM2.5 pollution.
🏆 Team A9d from Phetchabun Province — for proposing a “70:30 Fertilizer Sharing System” to reduce agricultural burning by turning crop residues into bio-fertilizer and pellets. The model would support farmers, create jobs for local youth, and generate funds for forest-fire patrols, helping improve air quality and protect local forests.
The activity is part of the Better Future Labs, an initiative by UNDP through the Agents of Change on Youth and Media for Responsible Business Project, supported by the European Union, in partnership with Central Pattana and network partners, bringing the movement to young people across Thailand.
Better Future Labs has now completed all five provincial rounds across Thailand, bringing together young people from Central, Northern, Northeastern, Eastern, and Southern Thailand to create business ideas for more responsible and sustainable futures.
🚀 But the journey doesn't end here! The 10 selected teams from across the five regions will now come together for the national round of Better Future Labs in Bangkok on 16–18 October 2026 to further develop and pitch their ideas on the national stage.

UNDP recognized as a partner in protecting and restoring nature by BEDO 🌏🍃
UNDP is delighted to receive a Certificate of Recognition from the Biodiversity-Based Economy Development Office (BEDO) for our contribution to protecting and restoring biodiversity. Niamh Collier-Smith, UNDP Resident Representative in Thailand, received the recognition from Dr. Thanit Changthavorn, Director-General of BEDO, at the Thailand Nature Positive Forum 2026: Driving Business Towards a Nature-Positive Future.
More than 70% of Thailand’s economic value depends on nature, while key industries such as agriculture and tourism account for nearly 30% of the country’s GDP. Protecting nature is therefore not only about conserving the environment, it is also about strengthening the foundations of a resilient and competitive economy.
UNDP works to protect and restore nature by supporting national policy planning to help Thailand achieve global biodiversity goals, promoting nature-positive community businesses, and empowering communities especially women, communities, and ethnic groups to co-design local environmental policies and protect their ecosystems

📊 Thailand currently has data for about 64% of SDG indicators overall.
📊 But at the provincial level, the gap is much bigger:
Out of 248 SDG indicators, around 160 are relevant locally —
yet provinces can only track fewer than 60 indicators (≈ 24–38% coverage).
Why does this matter?
💡 No data = we don’t see the real problems
💡 If we can’t see them = policies miss the point
💡 And in the end = some people are left behind without us even knowing

“BoonLoop,” a platform for more merit, less waste—on loop. ♻️🪷
On International Youth Day, meet Aoey, Prem, Cartoon and Mook—Todnan, a team of youth changemakers from Nong Khao, Kanchanaburi. They asked a simple question: Can we make merit without making more waste? Their answer is “BoonLoop,” a platform that cuts waste from traditional festivals by up to 74%.
Behind “BoonLoop” is Teacher Preaw, a physics teacher who supported the team, offered guidance, and helped bridge the students with the community. Their idea was then developed further through the Better Futures Programme.
Better Futures is a youth project in partnership with Central Pattana, implemented under the EU-funded Agents of Change Project promoting responsible business. The Better Futures project empowers young people to advance responsible business practices and build a better future close to home .

#วันเยาวชนสากล พบกับ เอย เปรม การ์ตูน และมุก ทีมโตดนาน เยาวชนจากหนองขาว จ.กาญจนบุรี ที่ตั้งคำถามว่า เราจะรักษาความศรัทธาและโลกไปพร้อมกันได้อย่างไร จนเกิดเป็น “บุญลูป” แพลตฟอร์มที่ลดขยะจากงานประเพณีได้ถึง 74%
เบื้องหลัง “บุญลูป” มีครูแพรว ครูฟิสิกส์ ที่คอยให้คำปรึกษาและเป็นสะพานเชื่อมเด็ก ๆ กับผู้ใหญ่และคนในชุมชน ก่อนที่ไอเดียของพวกเขาจะถูกต่อยอดผ่านโครงการ Better Futures – อนาคตใกล้ฉัน
