อาจถือเป็นประวัติศาสตร์หน้าใหม่ของประเทศไทย ที่มีความพร้อมสูงสุดที่จะเสนอตัวเป็นเจ้าภาพจัดงาน World Pride ในปี 2030 แข่งกับเมืองบาร์เซโลน่า สเปน และทั้งสองเมืองผ่านเข้ารอบสำคัญแล้ว โดยผลโหวตสุดท้ายจะเกิดขึ้นในเวทีของ InterPride ในช่วงปี 2026–2028
วันนี้ บางกอกเรนโบว์ (Bangkok Rainbow Organization) ซึ่งเป็นผู้ก่อตั้งและริเริ่มการจัดงาน Bangkok Pride เป็นครั้งแรกบนถนนสีลม ในปี 2002-2003 (ดูภาพการจัดงานที่ผ่านมาได้ที่ https://www.utopia-asia.com/spec/pride02.htm) ก่อนที่จะกลับมาจัดอีกครั้งอย่างยิ่งใหญ่ในปี 2022 โดยภาคเอกชน
