The idea that legalizing and decriminalizing abortion “forces” anyone is a harmful myth. ⚠️
Legalizing and decriminalizing abortion protects the right to make informed decisions and access safe, stigma-free healthcare—it doesn’t coerce anyone. 💜 It’s time to stop spreading fear and misinformation that fuel stigma and start respecting bodily autonomy. ✨
🌍 From silence to solidarity: share this, speak up, and stand for access to safe abortion care. ✨
📣 Join us this and take action. 🔗Access the campaign toolkit at march28.org Together, we can destigmatize abortion. 💪💜

Global crises, from COVID-19 to debt and climate shocks, have exposed systemic injustices that shape people’s lives. When financial institutions impose austerity, when social spending is cut, when inequality grows, SRHR is among the first rights to be undermined.
This is why feminist advocates across the Global South are joining forces to make visible what our lived realities have always shown:
Bodily autonomy, gender equality, and development justice are interconnected and mutually reinforcing.
A Global South coalition is forming to redefine how SRHR is understood in global, regional and national spaces and to challenge the structural conditions that push the realization of these rights out of reach.

Nepal’s Election Commission confirmed election of Ms Bhumika Shrestha on March 16, a proportional‑representation MP from the centrist Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) which won a majority in parliament with 182 seats last week. Increasing representation is vital for fostering a more inclusive society, and a more accurate understanding of .

From heightened authoritarianism and the climate crisis to well-funded anti-gender movements, the path to justice for women and girls is being deliberately obstructed - these challenges have been illustrated at the intergovernmental level during last week.
Over 100 civil society organizations, feminist activists, and grassroots leaders from across Asia and the Pacific are calling for Development Justice through systemic change that enables access to justice for women in all their diversity, and fulfillment of for all, including:
✅Legal reform must be accompanied by implementation and accountability.
✅Achieving true access to justice requires the urgent removal of economic and social barriers.
✅Justice must be fully accessible to all persons, including women and girls with disabilities.

launched its commitment to Planning 2030 with the "Every Birth Matters" campaign, which prioritizes women's bodily autonomy and access to high-quality care to ensure that every birth is voluntary, safe and wanted. Three forward-looking strategies aimed at building a health-centred ecosystem include reducing healthcare burdens on parents, expanding digital access to maternal and child health services, and harnessing big data analytics to provide more tailored, family-level policy support. 👏👏👏

The UN80 reform will redefine how the UN delivers on human rights and development. Decisions being made now represent a defining opportunity to protect and strengthen Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) through clear institutional safeguards.

At this critical moment, our position is clear: SRHR must remain central, visible, well-resourced, and politically protected — strengthened and consolidated as a core mandate, regardless of the final institutional configuration.

As the reform advances, 525 organisations from the Global South have endorsed A Call to Action: Safeguarding SRHR in the UN80 Reform, urging the UN and its Member States to:
Protect ring-fenced financing for SRHR, even in times of fiscal contraction
Ensure strong political and technical leadership, including high-level visibility
Guarantee accountability and system-wide coherence across UN entities
Secure meaningful civil society and youth participation
Anchor SRHR within development justice and the right to development

Take action: as signatories, we are amplifying this call in our countries. Share this message, mobilise your networks, and urge UN Member States and UN leadership to treat SRHR as non-negotiable in the UN80 reform.

: AI GENERATED VIDEOS USED TO ENCOURAGE MARRIAGE
Online artificial intelligence-generated videos of distraught middle-aged single women regretting not getting married and having children are being used to push young people to tie the knot.

Several videos made using artificial intelligence (AI) depicting crying single women at hospitals have circulated on a short video platform.

Parents are buying AI clips of regretful single women to urge childless kids to marry

Fake videos show frustrated, unmarried, childless middle-aged women crying and venting in hospital hallways about their life choices.
