Job Coach

When a person with a disability leaves a job after a short period, should we only ask, “Why did they quit?” Or should we also ask, “Does the workplace have the right support in place?”

The reasons may include difficulties with adjustment, the work environment, a mismatch between the job and the person’s strengths, or a lack of workplace mentoring and support.

This is where Job Coaches play an important role. They work alongside persons with disabilities, helping coordinate workplace adjustments and accessibility support, while also fostering understanding between employees with disabilities and employers.
