At our June get together, 35 members and friends of the Swiss Society Bangkok gathered at the Chesa Swiss Bangkok Restaurant for a memorable Get Together.

We had the pleasure to welcome Yvonne Urfer, one of the very first teachers of the Swiss School Bangkok, as our nights guest speaker. With her remarkable storytelling talent, Yvonne took us on a fascinating journey back to the early days of the Swiss School in Bangkok.
Adding to the evening's charm, two former students who had studied with Yvonne were also present and integrated into the speech, making the stories come even more alive and creating nostalgic and fun moments among the audience.

Following the presentation, guests enjoyed lively conversations and a delicious Swiss dinner featuring Rösti with Olma Bratwurst.

A heartfelt thank you to Yvonne Urfer for sharing her amazing stories and to everyone who joined us for this wonderful evening.

We look forward to seeing you at our next Swiss Society Bangkok event taking place on the 21st of July where our member Priska Rüegg will present her recent cooking book.

Discover the extraordinary world of Swiss painter Theo Meier (1908–1982), whose life and artistic legacy were deeply intertwined with Thailand.

The Embassy of Switzerland is pleased to present a unique exhibition at the Swiss Residence in Bangkok, featuring a rare selection of Meier’s paintings – most of which are being shown to the public for the very first time.

The exhibition also sheds light on Meier’s close friendship with Prince Sanidh Rangsit, a connection that inspired the artist to settle in Thailand and create remarkable works here.

Visitors are warmly invited to explore the exhibition free of charge on selected dates:

May Get-Together – Swiss Society Bangkok 🇨🇭

We were pleased to welcome 24 guests to our May Get-Together.

More than 11'000 Swiss nationals are officially residing in Thailand, making it the second-largest Swiss community in Asia after Israel. In addition, around 200'000 visitors from Switzerland come each year. This represents an important task for the Regional Consular Center in Bangkok. We would like to express our sincere thanks to Consul General, Jacques Baudevin, for his very interesting and insightful presentation on the activities of the Regional Consular Centre in Bangkok. The information shared, as well as the engaging discussions with our members, were greatly appreciated.

Afterwards, the team at Chesa treated us to a delicious dinner.
A big thank you to the entire Chesa team for their excellent hospitality!
