Eighth Governing Board Meeting Shapes SEAMEO SEPS’ Regional Direction

From 15-16 September 2026, the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization Regional Centre for Sufficiency Economy Philosophy for Sustainability (SEAMEO SEPS) convened its Eighth Governing Board Meeting in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Thailand.

The meeting brought together members of the SEAMEO SEPS Governing Board to review progress, exchange perspectives, and provide strategic guidance for the Centre’s ongoing and future initiatives.

The Governing Board reaffirmed its commitment to advancing SEAMEO SEPS’ role as a regional hub for sustainability education, promoting the Sufficiency Economy Philosophy and supporting meaningful impact across Southeast Asia.

🍽️Exploring Shared Pathways for Food Security and Sustainability

Representatives of foreign missions from Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, the Lao PDR, Malaysia, the Philippines, Timor-Leste, and China gathered in Songkhla from 26–28 August 2026 to exchange perspectives on food security, sustainability, and international cooperation.

Led by the Ministry of Education, Thailand, in cooperation with SEAMEO SEPS and with support from Prince of Songkla University, the seminar explored how responsible consumption, local resources, cultural food knowledge, technology, education, and community resilience can contribute to stronger food systems.
