As we join the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence (GBV), CBYA stands with survivors, advocates, and youth across the region, calling for visibility, protection, and real change.

This year’s theme, “UNiTE to End Digital Violence Against All Women and Girls,” reminds us that safety must also extend to the online world. Women and girls deserve to engage digitally without fear, harm, or harassment.

We invite everyone to stand with us, speak up, support survivors, and help create a safer, more inclusive digital space for all in their diversities.

We were honoured to present the work of the Cross Border Youth Alliance (CBYA) at the event “Harnessing the Power of Civil Society in Advancing Child Rights in Sri Lanka,” held under the theme “A Path to Child-Informed Policies: The Newly Launched Participation and Campaign Toolkit Empowers Children to Lead” held in Granbell Colombo Sri Lanka.

The event, backed by over 30 civil society organizations across Sri Lanka, highlighted the importance of collective action in promoting child rights and ensuring that children’s voices are meaningfully included in shaping the policies that affect their lives.

Representing CBYA at this forum was an inspiring opportunity to share our regional experiences and reaffirm the significance of youth-led initiatives in fostering inclusive and participatory development processes. 🌍✨

"Taking care of your mind is not a weakness, it’s an act of courage."

At CBYA, we believe mental health is a human right, not a privilege.
We work to create safe spaces where youth can share their feelings, support one another, and access the help they deserve.

💚 This World Mental Health Day, we call for:

* More open conversations about mental health, without stigma or shame

* Access to psychosocial support for all youth, especially in displacement settings

* Community-led care that listens, heals, and empowers

Remember: You are not alone. Your feelings are valid. Help is hope and reaching out is strength.

✨ Beyond Border, Beyond Bias ✨

In September, we (CrossBorder Youth Alliance - CBYA and Civic Literacy Myanmar) organized in-person sessions at the Thailand–Myanmar border. The sessions covered:

🌱 Awareness on identity, power, gender, and displacement
💚 Wellbeing and Mental Health
📚 Sharing education opportunities and pathways

We also engaged the students through a social media campaign. We were truly inspired by the energy, thoughtful discussions, and enthusiastic participation of the students/youths throughout these activities.

A big thank you to all the teachers, students, local communities, as well as our speakers and facilitators for their support and contributions. 🙏

We’re excited to continue this journey with the upcoming mentoring process with the participants. 💫

Every year on August 12, the world celebrates International Youth Day, a moment to recognize the power, creativity, and leadership of young people everywhere.

This year’s theme, “Youth for Peace and Sustainable Futures,” reminds us that the voices and actions of youth are not just the future—they are shaping change right now.

"When young people are trusted and supported, they become unstoppable forces for good."

On this day, we:
🔹 Celebrate the achievements of youth across borders
🔹 Call for inclusive policies that protect youth rights and potential
🔹 Commit to building spaces where every young person can learn, lead, and thrive

📣 This August 12, let’s stand together for a world where every young voice is heard and valued.

Every year on July 15, we celebrate the power of skills to transform young people’s lives.

From learning to sew or speak a new language, to digital skills or leadership skills help youth build confidence, earn a living, and create change in their communities.

For many young people especially refugees, stateless youth, and those living in border areas gaining new skills isn’t always easy. But when given the chance, they rise. They lead. They inspire.

At CBYA, we believe every young person deserves access to learning, no matter where they come from. Because skills don’t just build careers they build hope.

Let’s keep supporting youth to grow, learn, and lead.
