PADI AWARE Week may came to an end on September 20th, but our responsibility to the ocean doesn’t. 🌊

From every dive to every small action on land, on Koh Tao we have the power to make a difference for the marine life and ecosystem we love.🌍

A huge thank you to everyone who joined Black Turtle Dive, Black Turtle Conservation and IDC Koh Tao this past week for diving with purpose, sharing the message, and helping us give back to the ocean. 💙

Join us Sunday 20th, for PADI AWARE Week, with Black Turtle Conservation, for our Dive Against Debris on World Cleanup Day!🤿

Organising Dive Against Debris surveys helps collect data about marine debris that can affect policy change in order to protect marine wildlife from the impacts of plastic pollution.♻️

Marine debris is human created rubbish or litter in the marine environment! 🌍

Marine debris can injure and kill marine life, can interfere with navigation safety for shipping vessels and poses a threat to human health.🧑‍🎓

*To sign up you must be Open Water Certified.

Short Lecture - The day begins with a short lecture on the design of reefs and coral transportation.✔️

Design Workshop - Create you own artificial reef design ideas and completed with a book if ideas!👍

Coral Transportation Relay Race - Some more beach fun with a question and answer game to help create a corral reef, while learning attachment methods. 🤔

This day includes:

An Educational Lecture on Sea Slugs - Discover the wonderful world of Sea Slugs and Nudibranchs. Learn Ecology, superpowers, local heroes, and spotting tips. 🔍

Nesting Sea Slugs - Match the Slug and substrate, then hunt and match for the slugs and match them correctly. ✔️

Flumping Gruntlets - Flanimals of the Reef. Collectively we will create and Id guide in the style of these fantastical and imaginary Sea Slugs of Koh Tao. 😍

Join us Thursday 17th, for PADI AWARE Week, with Black Turtle Conservation, for our Coral Taxonomy Day!🪸

This day includes:

An Introduction on Coral Taxonomy - Learn what makes a coral a coral! Explore their basic anatomy and discover the key features used to identify different species.✔️

Coral Crime Scene Game - Have fun and put your detective skills to the test! Create a "robot portrait" through Pictionary, interrogate mysterious suspects in "what am i?". 🤔

Use clues to recognise and identify the correct coral species. Could you solve the case?🕵️

A "Villains or Heroes" Presentation - discover more about Koh Tao species, that don't always play a positive role on the beach!👍

Warming up on the beach - Have fun and put your knowledge and skills to the test with a beach game. ✔️

Scuba Diver and See - Join our conservation team for a Coral Predator Monitoring Survey! *Advanced Open Water certified and above!🤿

Join us Tuesday 15th, for PADI AWARE Week, with Black Turtle Conservation, for a presentation for shark Awareness! 🦈

The presentation will be on the threats that these amazing creatures face. Along with the conservation efforts being made to help protect them. 👍

This will be followed by an optional Shark Monitoring snorkel survey!🤿
