Mulan, Tiger, Lily, Shabu, Amber, Charlie and Tara are just a small selection of the dogs currently looking for homes through Koh Koh Pups. They represent only a fraction of the dogs in our care, but together they show the variety of personalities, ages, sizes and backgrounds that make rescue work so rewarding.

Some arrived as tiny puppies with no known history, while others came to us after spending years surviving on the streets, living in difficult situations, or being surrendered by owners who could no longer care for them. Each dog has travelled a different path to reach the rescue, but they all share the same goal: finding a safe, loving home where they can finally settle down.

Among our dogs you’ll find confident adventurers, gentle souls, playful troublemakers and quiet companions. Some are energetic and would love an active family to explore the world with, while others are happiest enjoying a slower pace and plenty of affection. We have dogs who are young and eager to learn, as well as older dogs who have already mastered the art of being loyal companions.

Their stories may be different, but every dog receives the same care, rehabilitation and preparation for life in a home. They are given time to build confidence, learn good manners, socialise with other dogs and people, and receive any veterinary care they need before adoption.

Finding the right match is never about choosing the “best” dog. It’s about finding the dog whose personality, energy level and needs fit your lifestyle. Whether you’re looking for a hiking partner, a family dog, a beach companion or simply a friend to share your daily life with, there is likely a Koh Koh Pup waiting to meet you.

These seven dogs are only a snapshot of the many wonderful dogs available for adoption. Each one has their own character, quirks and story to tell, and all are hoping their next chapter will be with a family of their own.

Loki has been adopted!

Loki will soon be starting his new life in England, and we couldn’t be happier for him.

We first found Loki, his siblings, and their mum and extended family living together on a resort. During COVID, they had moved from the jungle to the relative safety of the resort grounds. However, as tourism returned to the island, it became increasingly difficult for them to remain there safely.

Loki and his siblings have been with us at the rescue for almost two and a half years, and every day with him has been a joy. We’ve been able to provide him with a safe home, improve his life bit by bit, and watch him grow into the wonderful dog he is today.

Now, after all this time, Loki has finally found the loving family he deserves. While we’ll miss his sweet face and gentle nature, there is no greater reward than seeing one of our dogs leave rescue life behind and begin a new chapter filled with love, comfort, and adventure.

Your new life is waiting for you Loki, and we can’t wait to see all the wonderful things that lie ahead.

We want to say a huge thank you to the whole crew at for once again hosting the incredibly successful Koh Krufts. A very special thank you to Bart, Charley, Logan and Linzi for all the planning, hard work and love that goes into making this event happen every year. It’s genuinely one of the highlights of our calendar and something we all look forward to so much. We appreciate your support for the dogs and the rescue more than words can say.

We also want to say a massive thank you to all the businesses on Koh Tao that donated prizes for our special day! Unbelievable effort from our wonderful community! A big thank you to for once again offering their services free of charge and delivering some life long memories.

Every single dog that entered was amazing. Many were adopted Koh Koh Pups living their best lives, while others are still patiently waiting for their forever homes. Seeing them all having fun, feeling confident and being celebrated was incredibly special.

Of course, we also had to bring along our newest addition, Shabu, to compete… and wow did he deliver. Not only did he absolutely smash the assault course, but he completed it in record-breaking time… WE WON! 🏆

Shabu stole plenty of hearts yesterday and we’re really hoping he may also have caught the eye of a future adopter. He is such a special boy with so much love to give, and we would absolutely love to see him find the forever home he deserves. If you’d like to know more about Shabu, please reach out to us.

Our beautiful Tina has passed away.

Yesterday, we attempted to remove the cancerous tumours that had been causing her so much discomfort, but this morning Tina made the decision herself that it was time to go. We are heartbroken, but also grateful that she was surrounded by love right until the very end.

Tina had been with us at the rescue for almost two years, though we had actually been caring for her for nearly four years in total. She spent so much of her life surviving having litter after litter of puppies with Tiger, and over time it placed an enormous strain on her body.

When we first met Tina, she was in terrible condition. She had almost no hair left on her body due to severe mange, was covered in ticks and fleas, malnourished, exhausted, and trapped in a cycle of endless pregnancies. Despite everything she had endured, she remained gentle, loving, and full of spirit.

Over the years, we were able to give Tina the life she always deserved with safety, comfort, full meals, medical care, and most importantly, love. Watching her finally become healthy and happy was something truly special. One of our favourite memories will always be Tina rolling around happily in the dirt at the rescue, completely carefree and content.

Tina is exactly why we do this work. She is why we fight so hard for dogs that others overlook. She is why fundraisers like the one we are holding today matter so much. Every donation, every share, and every bit of support helps dogs like Tina get a second chance. Not just to survive, but to experience peace, kindness, and love before their time comes.

Run free, beautiful girl. You were loved more than you will ever know.

We received messages from tourists about a dog at a viewpoint who looked like she desperately needed help. They told us she could no longer walk properly and was struggling to eat.

We made the long journey up to where she was, and it was immediately clear something wasn’t right. She had very little control over her body and showed obvious signs of pain and neurological issues, particularly around her hips. Her owners thought she may have been hit by a large motorbike, but they weren’t certain.

Thankfully, I had brought a crate with me, which meant we could safely transport her down the steep, treacherous hill and get her to the clinic for further examination.

After assessment, the vets diagnosed her with Dermoid Sinus, a condition we’ve sadly seen several times before in Thai Ridgebacks on the island, including my own little Harriet. Dermoid sinus (also known as pilonidal sinus) is a congenital condition caused by incomplete separation of the skin and nervous system during embryonic development. The sinus can appear anywhere along the back or neck and can lead to infection, spinal involvement, and severe neurological issues if left untreated.

Surgery was necessary, and all we could do was hope for the best. Since then, she’s thankfully eating much more comfortably, which is a really positive sign. Now we wait and watch, hoping to see improvement in her mobility and neurological function.

Rescue is often a waiting game full of uncertainty but every small win matters, and she’s shown us she’s still fighting.
