Frankie and Thangthai are busy applying their favorite all-natural skincare: fresh dirt! While it looks like they’re just making a mess, they’re actually protecting their skin from the sun and pesky bugs.
With over 9 acres of forest to explore, they’ve found the perfect spot for a dust bath today. Looking good, boys! ✨

Ever wonder why Franky is always following so close behind the elders? It’s not just for protection—it’s actually for his health!

As Franky transitions into adulthood, he’s learning the ropes (and the smells!) of the jungle. Young elephants like Franky often eat the dung of older elephants to gain essential gut bacteria needed to help them digest tough plants and fibers. It’s nature’s way of passing down the "secret sauce" for a healthy stomach!

Somkid, the oldest elephant at our sanctuary, passed away tonight. After spending over 10 years in our care, she is finally at rest. Before joining us, she endured 60 to 70 years of grueling labor in the logging and riding industries.

Despite our best efforts to treat her obesity and kidney disease, her time had come. We strive to rescue and protect elephants in Thailand from heartless abuse, but we cannot do it alone—we need your help. If you have any questions or wish to support our mission, please send us a message.
