Junta’s artillery attack kills student and injures 11

HURFOM: At approximately 11 am on August 19th, 2026, the Thane-Za-Yat-Town-based 310th Artillery Battalion launched artillery attacks on Zee Pyaung village, Kyike Hto Township, Mon State. One artillery shell exploded in a football field beside the primary school, killing a five-year-old student and injuring 11 others.

Maung Chit Linn Aung had a broken skull, and he was killed on the spot.

“The children were playing in the football field during the lunch break. The artillery shell exploded in a house compound beside the field. One child was killed on the spot while many were injured,” said a resident.

Plantation owners worry instability delays farm work

HURFOM: In Northern Ye Township, Mon State, there have been frequent armed clashes between the military junta, and the joint revolutionary forces. The latter group urged plantation owners to stay away from the conflict areas.

Plantation owners are worried they cannot start their farm works in time due to the instability.

“We’re busy now and we must finish our work in time. But we have to stay away from our plantations a great deal, so we are worried we won’t be able to finish our farm work,” said a plantation owner.

၂၀၂၆ ခုနှစ် ဩဂုတ် (၁၉) ရက်နေ့က မွန်ပြည်နယ်၊ ကျိုက်ထိုမြို့နယ် သိမ်ဇရပ်မြို့ ဇီးပြောင်းကျေးရွာတွင် စစ်ကော်မရှင်တပ်၏ လက်နက်ကြီးပစ်ခတ်မှုကြောင့် အသက် (၅) နှစ်အရွယ် ကျောင်းသားတစ်ဦးသေဆုံးခဲ့ကာ (၁၁) ဦး ထိခိုက်ဒဏ်ရာရရှိခဲ့ကြောင်း ဒေသခံများထံမှ သိရသည်။

တိုက်ပွဲဖြစ်ပွားမှု မရှိဘဲ နေ့လည် (၁၁) နာရီခွဲအချိန်ခန့် သိမ်ဇရပ်မြို့အခြေစိုက် စစ်ကော်မရှင်တပ်၏ အမြောက်တပ် (၃၁၀) တပ်ရင်းမှ ပစ်ခတ်လိုက်သည့် လက်နက်ကြီးတစ်လုံးသည် ဇီးပြောင်း (၅) ရွာ မူလတန်းကျောင်းဘေးရှိ ဘောလုံးကွင်းအနီး ကျရောက်ပေါက်ကွဲခဲ့သည်။

စစ်တပ် လက်နက်ကြီးကျရောက်ပေါက်ကွဲမှုကြောင့် အသက် (၅) နှစ်အရွယ် မောင်ချစ်လင်းအောင်သည် ဦးခေါင်းပွင့်ထွက် ဒဏ်ရာများဖြင့် အခင်းဖြစ်ရပ်တွင် သေဆုံးခဲ့သည်။

“နေ့လယ်ကျောင်းဆင်းချိန် ကလေးတွေ ဆော့နေကြတာ၊ ဘောလုံးကွင်းရှိတယ်လေ၊ ဘောလုံးကွင်းဘေးက အိမ်ခြံဝင်းတစ်ခုထဲကို ကျကွဲတာ၊ အဲဒီမှာ ကလေးတစ်ယောက်က တခါတည်းဆုံးသွားတယ်၊ တော်တော်များများ ဒဏ်ရာရသွားတယ်” ဟု ဒေသခံသတင်းအရင်းအမြစ်တစ်ဦးက ပြောသည်။

ထို့အပြင် အသက် (၁၀) နှစ်အရွယ် မောင်ဇင်ဖြိုးပိုင်၊ အသက် (၁၇) နှစ်အရွယ် မင်းသက်ပိုင်၊ အသက် (၁၉) နှစ်အရွယ် နေလင်းအောင်၊ အသက် (၃၁) နှစ်အရွယ် မနှင်းယုထွေး၊ အသက် (၁၆) နှစ်အရွယ် စောခွန်ဆန်း၊ အသက် (၃၀) နှစ်အရွယ် မအိ၊ အသက် (၃၆) ​ နှစ်အရွယ် ထွန်းလင်းဦး၊ အသက် (၃၁) နှစ်အရွယ် သန့်ဇင်ဦး၊ အသက် (၁၇) နှစ်အရွယ် ရှိုင်းလင်းထက်၊ အသက် (၁၈) ​ နှစ်အရွယ် သူရိန်ထွန်း၊ အသက် (၁၉) နှစ်အရွယ် ဘိုအာကာ တို့တွင် လက်ကျိုးဒဏ်ရာ၊ စုတ်ပြဲဒဏ်ရာတို့အပြင် ခန္ဓာကိုယ်အနှံ့မှာ အစထိမှန်ဒဏ်ရာများ ရရှိခဲ့သည်။

စစ်တပ်လက်နက်ကြီးကျရောက်ပေါက်ကွဲချိန်သည့် နေ့လယ်ခင်း ကျောင်းဆင်းပြီး ကလေးများ ဆော့ကစားနေချိန်နှင့် နေအိမ်ခြံဝင်းထဲကျကွဲသဖြင့် ထိခိုက်မှုများခဲ့ခြင်းဖြစ်သည်။

ထိခိုက်ဒဏ်ရာရရှိသူများအနက် လေးဦးသည် ဒဏ်ရာပြင်းထန်သဖြင့် ပဲခူးဆေးရုံမှတစ်ဆင့် ရန်ကုန်ဆေးရုံသို့ တင်ပို့ထားကြောင်း မိသားစုဝင်များနှင့် နီးစပ်သူအချို့က ပြောသည်။

“အဲဒီမှာ တိုက်ပွဲမရှိဘူး၊ အခုထိထားတဲ့သူတွေကို သိမ်ဇရပ်တိုက်နယ်ဆေးရုံ၊ ပဲခူးဆေးရုံ၊ အဲဒီထဲက ပြင်းထန်လူနာကျတော့ ရန်ကုန်ပို့ထားတယ်၊ တော်တော်ယုတ်မာတယ်၊ ကလေးတွေ စာသင်နေတဲ့ ကျောင်းအနီးကို ပစ်ရက်တာ၊ ပြောစရာ စကားတောင် မရှိဘူး” ဟု မိသားစုဝင်နှင့် နီးစပ်သူတစ်ဦးက ပြောသည်။

အဆိုပါ ကျေးရွာသည့် ကရင်အမျိုးသားအစည်းအရုံး (KNU) တပ်မဟာ - (၁) သထုံခရိုင် ထိန်းချုပ်ထားတဲ့ နယ်မြေမဟုတ်သော်လည်း ဇီးပြောင်းလမ်းပိုင်းကို စစ်ကော်မရှင်တပ်က အသုံးပြုသွားလာမှုများရှိနေပြီး ယင်းကျေးရွာအနီးတဝိုက် မြေမြှုပ်မိုင်း ထောင်ထားလေ့ရှိကြောင်း သိရသည်။

၂၀၂၆ ခုနှစ်ထဲ ကရင်အမျိုးသားအစည်းအရုံး (KNU) ထိန်းချုပ်ရာနယ်မြေ သထုံခရိုင်အတွင်းရှိ စစ်ရေးပစ်မှတ်မဟုတ်သည့် ကျေးရွာများဘက်ကို စစ်တပ်က လေကြောင်းအပါအဝင် လက်နက်ကြီးပစ်ခတ်မှုများ အရှိန်မြှင့်လုပ်ဆောင်လာနေပြီး အရပ်သားထိခိုက် သေဆုံးမှု ပိုတိုးလာနေခဲ့သည်။

စစ်ကြောင်းကဖမ်းဆီးသွားသည့် ကင်းရှေ့ရွာသား သတ်ဖြတ်ခံရ

၂၀၂၆ ဩဂုတ်လ (၁၀) ရက်နေ့မှစ၍ တနင်္သာရီတိုင်း သရက်ချောင်းမြို့နယ်အထက်ပိုင်း စော်ဖျား၊ ကင်းရှေ့၊ ကြက်စာပြင်၊ မိုးရွှေကုန်း၊ ကျောက်လှေကား၊ ဆေးဖြတ်ကုန်း၊ ယောင်းမော်စသည့် ကျေးရွာများသို့ စစ်အင်အားရာချီ တစ်ပြိုင်နက် စစ်ကြောင်းထိုးဝင်ရောက်လာသည်။

စစ်ကြောင်းတစ်ခုက ကင်းရှေ့ရွာသားများကို ဖမ်းဆီးခဲ့ပြီး ဩဂုတ်လ (၁၁) ရက်နေ့တွင် တချို့ကို ပြန်လည်လွှတ်ပေးခဲ့သော်လည်း ရွာသား (၇) ဦးကို စစ်ကြောင်းနှင့်အတူ ဖမ်းဆီးခေါ်ဆောင်သွား ကြောင်း ကင်းရှေ့ရွာသားအမျိုးသားတစ်ဦးက ပြောသည်။

၎င်းတို့အနက် အသက် (၅၃) နှစ်အရွယ် ဦးစိုးထွန်းကို စစ်တပ်က စော်ဖျားကျေးရွာ ဘုန်းတော်ကြီးကျောင်းတွင် သေနတ်ဖြင့် ပစ်သတ်ခဲ့ကြောင်း သိရသည်။

“အဲရွာရောက်တော့ ဖမ်းလာတဲ့သူတွေကို ဘုန်းကြီးကျောင်းမှာ ကြိုးတုပ်ထားတယ်။ နောက်တော့ ကင်းရှေ့ရွာသားတစ်ဦးကို သေနတ်နဲ့ ပစ်သတ်လိုက်တယ်။ အလောင်းကို ဘုန်းကြီးကျောင်းမှာပဲ မြှုပ်ထားတယ်။ စစ်ကြောင်း ရှိနေတော့ ရွာသားတွေက (အလောင်းကို) သွားမဖော်ရဲသေးဘူး” ဟု စစ်ရေးနှင့်နီးစပ်သည့် သတင်းရင်းမြစ်တစ်ခုက ပြောသည်။

“ပစ်သတ်လိုက်တာ သေချာတယ်လို့ ပြန်လွတ်လာတဲ့သူတွေရော အနီးဝန်းကျင်လူတွေပါ ပြောကြတယ်။ သေနတ်သံ (၂) ချက်လောက် ကြားရတယ်” ဟု ဘုန်းကြီးကျောင်းအနီးတွင် နေထိုင်သည့် အမျိုးသမီးတစ်ဦးက ပြောသည်။

စစ်တပ်က တစ်ရွာဝင် တစ်ရွာထွက် စစ်ကြောင်းထိုးနေပြီး ရောက်ရှိသည့်ကျေးရွာတိုင်းတွင် ရွာသားများကို ဖမ်းဆီးနေသည်။ နောက်တစ်ရွာသို့ ရောက်လျှင် ယခင်ဖမ်းဆီးခဲ့သူတချို့ကို ပြန်လည်လွှတ်ပေးလေ့ရှိပြီး ရောက်ရှိသည့်ကျေးရွာမှ ဒေသခံများကို ထပ်မံဖမ်းဆီးသည်။

“စော်ဖျားရောက်တော့ ကင်းရှေ့ကဖမ်းလာတဲ့သူတွေကို လွှတ်ပေးလိုက်တယ်။ သွားရင်းလာရင်း စစ်ကြောင်းနဲ့တိုးရင်လည်း အဖမ်းခံရတယ်” ဟု ကင်းရှေ့ရွာသားတစ်ဦးက ပြောသည်။

လက်ရှိတွင် စစ်တပ်သည် သရက်ချောင်းမြို့နယ်အထက်ပိုင်းရှိ ကျေးရွာများကို ဆက်လက် စစ်ကြောင်းထိုးနေသဖြင့် ကျေးရွာ (၁၀) ရွာမှ ဒေသခံပြည်သူထောင်ချီ ထွက်ပြေးတိမ်းရှောင်နေရသည်။

Villager arrested by junta regiment shot and killed

HURFOM: Since August 10th, 2026, the military junta has deployed hundreds of troops in spontaneously military offensives in Saw Phyar, King Shay, Kyat Sar Pyin, Moe Shwe Gone, Kyuak Hlay Kar, Say Phyat Gone, Yaung Maw and surrounding villages, Northern Tha Yet Chaung Township, Tenasserim Division.

In one case, a regiment arrested villagers from King Shay village and released some on August 11th; however, they took seven villagers with their military column.

Among the arrested, 53-year-old U Soe Tun was shot and killed at the monastery in Saw Phyar village.

Husband Killed, Wife Injured in Landmine Explosion in Palaw Township

HURFOM: Palaw Township, Tanintharyi Region: A man was killed and his wife was injured after the couple stepped on a landmine while returning to their home in Auk Paung Village, Palaw Township, on August 15, according to local residents.

The explosion happened at around 11:00 AM as the couple, both in their 60s, were travelling from Taung Yar Kam Village back toward Auk Paung Village.

Myanmar remains a dangerous place for civilians. ⚠️ 🚫

Civilians are still being killed in their villages, young people are being seized for military service, and families are fleeing repeated attacks with little protection.

Nai Aue Mon from Rehmonnya - Human Rights Foundation of MonLand urged the U.S. Department of Homeland Security to suspend removals of Burmese TPS holders and conduct a full, credible review of conditions in Myanmar. Until it is genuinely safe to return, people should not be forced back into danger.

The U.S. government should listen to the realities on the ground in Myanmar and ensure that no one is sent back to a country where civilian life remains under attack. 🚨

Father and Son Killed, Two Relatives Injured in Artillery Attack on Kyauk Sin Village, Launglon Township

HURFOM: Launglon Township, Dawei District, Tanintharyi Region: A father and son were killed and two other family members were injured after artillery shells exploded near their home in Kyauk Sin Village, Launglon Township, at around 11:00 AM on August 18, according to local residents.
Residents said there was no fighting or armed clash near the village at the time.

Two artillery shells reportedly landed in the eastern part of Kyauk Sin Village. The explosions killed U Than Aung, aged over 70, and his son, Ko Pyae Aung, around 40, at the scene. U Than Aung’s wife and niece were also injured.
