Self-Sufficiency Series, Ch. 1: The Chocolate Experiment! 🍫🤝

Welcome to Chapter 1 of our brand-new granular series: The Path to Self-Reliance! True rehabilitation means preparing our 21 boys to step into the adult world as independent, skilled entrepreneurs.

Today, we launch our Social Enterprise Cooperative with our very first chocolate-making experiment, utilizing raw cacao produced locally by Togolese farmers. Our boys are mastering production, packaging, and door-to-door sales. The long-term vision is to transform these micro-ventures into a permanent cooperative livelihood.

We are seeking angel donor capital to invest in bulk ingredients, processing machinery, and a crucial delivery tricycle.Click here to act as a venture philanthropist and back our Tricycle & Startup fund securely via PayPal: 👇👉 https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=ZEGLDH3HGJ8SQ

The real sounds of street survival. ⚽🕹️🔊

Turn your sound up for this historical window. Before Maison des Rêves was born, this commercial street foosball table was the central hub for the first batch of boys we rescued. They would spend their hard-earned begging money just to play. Brother Aloka used this exact table to monitor their safety and quietly pay for the boys who had no coins. Listen to their real voices and the noise of the game—this is the exact granular reality where their path to transformation began.

The painful invisible lines of the street. 💔🕹️

A granular look into our history from early 2020. While tracking the movements of street children at night, Brother Aloka frequented local video game cafes. The contrast was heartbreaking: children from normal families sat playing, while homeless street children stood silently at the back, longing just to watch. Aloka didn’t just monitor them—he stepped in, paid for the street children to play, and treated them with the absolute equality they deserved. This patience is how we earned their trust before the rescue.

The exact morning we hunted for our very first orphanage building! 🏍️🏡

History in motion! On June 18, 2019, right after deciding to rescue Joseph and his street friends, Brother Aloka didn't wait a single hour. He immediately jumped on his motorbike and rode through the streets of Lomé, Togo, to find a building we could rent the very next day.

This raw clip captures the absolute beginning of our physical sanctuary. Seven years later, we shelter 21 beautiful boys, but our ongoing rent and maintenance funds require a constant global family.

An angel of the streets found her rest. 💔🕊️✨

This is a raw, beautiful piece of our history from early 2020. Before we opened our doors, Joseph survived on the streets for over 3 years. He told us a story about a wonderful lady who would quietly cook and share her food to keep him and his close friends alive.

When she suddenly disappeared, Joseph was devastated and starved for months. Driven by deep gratitude, Brother Aloka conducted a search that led him to a small village mud house. He found the lady, who was very sick, and presented her with plastic bags of food as a thank-you gift.

He told her: "Thank you for keeping Joseph alive. He is rescued now. You don't have to worry." Weeks after this video was taken, she passed away. Joseph was deeply affected, but she died knowing her boys were safe.

Help us continue the protection she started.

Healing the hidden scars of the street. 💔🏥🩹

Flashback to July 16, 2019, at 10:00 AM. A side of street rescue that many do not see is the immediate physical toll on a child's body. Surviving on the hot pavement means constant injuries, and without access to water or bandages, small cuts turn into deep, painful sores over time.

This raw historical footage captures our brave Joseph getting his long-neglected extremities treated by a local doctor during our very first weeks. Providing safety means providing complete medical protection.

Today, our 21 boys grow up strong, healthy, and cared for, but our medical bills require a constant global village.

Help us keep our children healthy.

Operating with love, dignity, and law. 📝⚖️❤️

Flashback to February 5, 2020. At Maison des Rêves, our foundational rule is to trace a rescued child’s relatives immediately to seek safe family reintegration or acquire official legal custody under Togolese law.

This raw archive footage captures Brother Aloka arriving at the underprivileged neighborhood of Moise’s grandmother. Moise had been missing for months, and his older cousin burst into pure relief seeing him safe. However, because Moise had been facing regular, severe physical abuse from an uncle at home, he requested his grandmother's permission to live with us. With her legal consent, Moise joined our family.

Today, he grows up protected, educated, and free from fear. Help us keep our sanctuary open for children seeking urgent protection.

A selfie filled with pure, unfiltered joy. 📱❤️✨

Flashback to August 2019. This candid, raw footage captures the exact moment our very first batch of rescued boys discovered the magic of a smartphone camera lens!

Crowding tightly around Brother Aloka, they burst into massive smiles, laughing and folding their hands to send a giant wave of gratitude all the way to our base in Iceland. For children who spent years being ignored on dark street pavement, seeing themselves valued, loved, and visible on a screen is a beautiful step toward true emotional healing.

Seven years later, that same core of deep affection drives Maison des Rêves forward.

Help us keep these beautiful smiles protected.

From begging on the streets to witnessing the lights as a family. 🎄✨
A beautiful moment of history from December 26, 2019. Before finding our home, these children spent every holiday season begging for scraps in downtown Lomé while watching other families celebrate.

On this special night, Brother Aloka brought them back to the center of the city—not to beg, but to look up at the glittering holiday lights as a true, protected family.

Your love keeps our haven alive so these 21 boys can grow up with the dignity they deserve.
