Teamwork makes the dream work! 🤝💫✨🌱🇹🇬🚙

We’re so grateful to our amazing past visitors who helped us to plant seeds, repair our fences and build a new treehouse. Your energy and enthusiasm was motivating. We’ll miss you, wishing you all the best on your continued journey! 🌟

We had the privilege of representing Kailend at the recent CFSI Regional Workshop on Nutrition in Lomé, Togo. The research findings and discussions made one thing very clear: the gaps in our local food systems are remarkably similar across West Africa, particularly concerning the growing double burden of malnutrition among youth.

This experience reinforced the need for stronger collaboration, shared learning, and the exchange of best practices to build a sustainable food system that truly engages and excites young people.

Grateful to our partners at Ghana Food Movement, Comité Français pour la Solidarité Internationale, Organisation pour l'Alimentation et le Développement Local and all the local actors for creating such an important platform for this discourse.

“The only source of knowledge is experience.” -Albert Einstein

We have been working with students from the Superior School of Agronomy at the University of Lomé and our partners at Ghana Food Movement to provide short term intensive training for youths, at Kailend Farm. During a four week period, trainees dive into each of our four main focuses on the farm: Agroforestry, Market Gardening, Beekeeping, and Agrotourism. Through in-field lessons and participation in all of our farm activities, trainees gain valuable experience and learn new skills that will help them achieve their future goals in the agriculture and food industries. Trainees, thank you for all your invaluable work on the farm!

We’ve got some new neighbours at the farm!!!
We’re so happy and proud to share with you that our dear friends and partners at Mother Charity’s orphanage have taken a huge step towards becoming more self sufficient by acquiring their very own farm. They’re raising some lovely farm animals like chickens and pigs, producing a variety of crops and have set up a primary school with 2 classrooms.

We’re doing our part to support and encourage them by donating a variety fruit tree seedlings, sending them volunteers to support their ongoing work, providing vegetable seeds and other essential resources. Stay tuned for more updates from this amazing project.

Special thanks to our dear brother, Yannick from Togo and the US 🇹🇬 🇺🇸 . Yannick helped us finish our treehouse learning space (that was initially started with the help of brother Manual) which is huge!!! He worked tirelessly doing garden up keep and prepping beds, planting seeds in the gardens, doing eco-construction, planning and strategising, making bio pesticide, feeding and taking care of our farm animals and much more.

Yannick is the kindest and most down to earth soul ever. Truly you are blessed and a light in the world. Yannick continues to be involved in everything we do like family supposed to. 🤗💗🙏🏾

Stay tuned for our next post on how we built our treehouse learning space and what it will be used for.

We have started working in partnership with the National Association of People with Albinism in Togo (ANAT) to provide free accommodation, meals and practical hands-on training in ecological farming and how to set up an agribusiness. People with albinism in the region are often stigmatised within society. The consequences of which, can often lead to them being excluded or left behind.

Special thanks to Morgan for the wonderful trip! Looking forward to seeing you again soon. We appreciate you !! 🙏🙏💗
