Senator Dr. Stukie Motsa Calls for Purpose-Driven and Inclusive Leadership at She Matters Breakfast Meeting
At the elegant Happy Valley Hotel during the 2026 She Matters Breakfast Meeting hosted by OX Purple, Senator Dr. Stukie Motsa delivered a powerful and thought-provoking address centered on redefining leadership and advancing meaningful inclusion for women.
Speaking to guests and young women gathered for the event, Senator Dr. Motsa emphasized that leadership in today’s world must move beyond authority and position. She challenged women in leadership to embrace purpose-driven leadership, describing it as leadership rooted in service, empathy, and empowerment.
“Leadership is no longer about how much power we hold,” she said. “It is about how many lives we improve.”
She encouraged leaders to listen before speaking, serve before expecting to be served, and focus on building people rather than simply building institutions. Her message resonated strongly with attendees as she highlighted the need for leaders who inspire transformation within communities and organizations.
Addressing the topic of women’s inclusion, Senator Dr. Motsa acknowledged the progress made in creating opportunities for women to occupy spaces where important decisions are made. However, she stressed that representation alone is not enough.
“Being in the room is not the same as being heard,” she stated.
She explained that true inclusion means ensuring women have not only a seat at the table, but also a voice, access, and influence in shaping decisions and outcomes. She challenged institutions and leaders to reflect honestly on whether women are participating meaningfully and whether their perspectives are genuinely valued.
According to Senator Dr. Motsa, inclusion without influence remains symbolic and fails to create real change. Her address served as a strong call for organizations and society to create environments where women are empowered to contribute fully and lead confidently.
The She Matters Breakfast Meeting became more than just a gathering, it was a platform for reflection, empowerment, networking and a renewed commitment to purposeful leadership and gender inclusion.
