Your wife at home can also be a bully.. here is a short story of a man who was bullied by his wife
The Weight of Silence
The chipped mug felt cold in my hand, mirroring the emptiness in my chest. Each sip of lukewarm coffee tasted like ash. It had been another night of whispers, not of love, but of cruel jabs disguised as "jokes."
"You're such a loser," she'd sneered, her eyes glittering with a cruel amusement. "Look at you, still living in this apartment, no promotion, no car⦠pathetic."
The words echoed in the silence that followed, each syllable a tiny hammer chipping away at my self-worth. I pretended not to hear, burying my face in the newspaper, the flimsy paper a poor shield against the onslaught of her contempt.
Years of this. Years of her chipping away at my confidence, her laughter a constant soundtrack to my dwindling self-esteem. I'd become a shadow of the man I once was, my vibrant spirit dimmed by her constant criticism.
I looked at my reflection in the chipped mug β a stranger staring back, eyes hollow, a ghost of the man I used to be. I yearned for the laughter we once shared, the warmth of her touch, the feeling of being cherished instead of constantly belittled.
But those days were gone, replaced by a suffocating silence and the ever-present weight of her disdain. I was drowning in a sea of her negativity, gasping for air, for a life where my spirit wasn't constantly under attack.
And as the first rays of dawn peeked through the grimy window, I wondered if I would ever find the strength to break free, to escape the prison of her cruelty and finally find some peace.
